I've playtested Tarmogoyf for months and found it to be, as aforementioned, a bad wall of roots. It's pretty good against Zoo, but only as a wall. The Spell Snares are my tech against Gaddock Teeg, as is EE (set it and forget it). As for Trickbind, I think Desire decks are on their way out.

Just wanted to chime in and agree about Wall of Roots superiority over goyf in this deck, though frankly I dont even have room for the wall in my sideboard. Soon though dredge will be gone yay!

Basics and counters and colorless mana sources. It has to be removed or countered though.

... and whats our answer to a resolving Magus of the Moon?? counters and signets. moonglove extract can be found in some SB's as it eliminates both gaddock teeg and magus of the moon.

counters and signets. moonglove extract can be found in some SB's as it eliminates both gaddock teeg and magus of the moon. And Vexing Shusher. Maybe it's just my luck, but I tend to run into lots of random counterspell hate, and he might be a popular one for his ability to beat counterbalance lock.
I don't follow the Extended meta as closely as I do during an ongoing PTQ season, so if any posters have Extended events or changes to the deck post-Eventide, please speak up. I'd like to keep the OP as up to date as possible, even if I don't follow the whole meta. I know there's a good chance that there isn't any real new tech due to pre-rotation malaise hanging over the format, but nonetheless.

Ive never seen Shusher played to be honest. Probably because it implies a slowdown in the decks that would run it (fast aggro).

vexing shusher requires double green, which would be a pain to cast in this deck. we're also not sure how powerful counter control decks will be post rotation with the loss of counterspell.
