In response to the Ask Wizards for September 1, I just wanted to point out that the order given for the novels is incorrect. Planeswalker starts off before The Gathering Dark and the Ice Age books, but it ends after them. So The Gathering Dark, Eternal Ice, and Shattered Alliances would all take place before Time Streams and Bloodlines.

http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/A … rcana/1667Okay, multiple fatpack wrappers is cool, but: "And see that thing labelled A Planeswalker's Guide to Alara? It's an excerpt from the extremely cool book." You mean we get an exceprt and not the whole book? Also, we still get 40 lands? I recognize the 8 boosters, the box, player's guide, spindown d20 as expected fatpack contents.

Agreed-with less stuff (part of a book rather than all of one) Fat Packs better cost less. Also, 'yay' for having each of the shards' art on the different packs!
Thanks, Hdier

So I get that the packaging has 5 different types and all the same stuff inside, but does the actual card box in each fat pack have the 5 different arts as well, or is the card box the same in all 5 different packaging schemes? If so, that's a lot of $$ to spend in order to get a box with each picture.

If I wanted more packs I would just buy them.
I want da'book, I want my separators, multiple boxes, etc..
The worst part is that switching other products might have placated me: playmats would have been nice for example.
There is next to no reason for anyone to buy those things anymore and given the addition of land to boosters singles are now truly the only way to go.

Still think that is a bad idea to remove the novel from the fat pack, especially for those of outside of the USA as very very few game stores or mainline retailers stock MTG novels.
This meant, for me, the fat pack was about the only way in which I could get the novel associated with the set.

You mean we get an exceprt and not the whole book? Yes.
Agreed-with less stuff (part of a book rather than all of one) Fat Packs better cost less. They will not; they will cost the same as before.
And so people say to me, "How do I know if a word is real?" You know, anyone who's read a children's book knows that love makes things real. If you love a word, use it! That makes it real. Being in the dictionary is an artificial distinction; it doesn't make the word any more real than any other word. If you love a word, it becomes real. --Erin McKean, Redefining the Dictionary
