Painter's servant only refers to cards that aren't in play. Chaotic Backlash refers to Black and/or White permanents, which are, by definition, cards in play.

I would like to point out that PTQ Las Vegas was one by Seth Williams piloting Faeries into another plane ticket for Berlin. Best deck of the beginning, and end of the season.
