Good art, but I'm afraid your intended audience isn't nearly as large as it would be if you made it about the fluff and the card game.
We Magic players are already a small segment of the nerd population -- fluff-lovers are an even smaller subset of that.
Good luck though, regardless.

Well, we have in plans some purely flavor, and not-storyline strips, so those may hit larger group...
You're entirely right that comic 'bout the the game would have much bigger audience, but we're just casual players (Eid doesn't play at all, anymore, or so I've heard). We're flavor/storyline lovers, and personally, I can't really see us doing something else.

Yeah, we flavor buffs might not be a gigantic audience, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be pampered with our own webcomic. :D Even if the readership isn't huge, it'll be dedicated, and I think that's what counts. Of course, it isn't my comic, so my opinion probably isn't all that important...

As a regular here I do recognize the intention and covers, yet new readers would need more references, maybe a note below the dates saying "Apocalypse release date", "Scourge...", "Time Spiral..."
