It's also about $50 and has only been printed three times. My playgroup is happy to allow proxies, so that isn't an issue.

My playgroup is happy to allow proxies, so that isn't an issue. That's probably why it isn't on the must-play list, though.

thx this really helped! i am quite new to EDH. i play goblin EDH now and it works great!. making it aggro/control instead of just aggro made it very powerful also adding allot of late game solutions helps allot. btw coat of arms rulz in this format(if you play tribal that is.)

You might want to update the Blue portion because Gifts Ungiven is banned. forum.dragonhighlander.net/EDH_Forum/vie...

well i agree with the banning of gifts. there or to muc sick combo's you can grab. often grabbing a card combination that leaves your opponant no good choice. some call it a "super tutor" and i agree.
therefor not very fun.

How good is a more midrange deck in this format? I realize that straight up aggro won't get it done, but would a more Rock type deck work?

I'm planning my EDH deck around spirits but I can't find a general of four colors (GWRB), any suggestions? I just don't want to pick up a 5 colors creature just to fullfill the requirement.

Sorin Markov can seriously hurt an opponent. In this format, it's basically a sorcery that does about 30 damage to one opponent. Manamorphose does one thing and one thing only: It makes your deck 98 cards. If you're running RG, then there is no reason not to run this. Street Wraith does mostly the same thing, but in black.

I find that terastodon is an incredible card in any green edh deck. the ability to destroy 3 of your opponents non creatures has obvious power seeing all the artifact/enchantment removal already played in most decks. it can even destroy pesky non-basics and plainswalkers.
