How he went about building the deck reminded me of Chris Millar. But the lack of jokes there made me doubt it.
Then I started reading the game logs. Yep... that's Chris Millar.

Yup, Chris Millar. The style is definitely not Ben. And still no mask of the mimic joke.

I don't know, I got the feeling it was Michael J when he said "Nice peel me!" because he is the only person I remember saying that :P
I could be totally wrong though.

Wow.... I'm no rules maven, but I would have never guessed that Flourishing Defenses would be able to react to the negative counters being placed on any creature AS it came into play- I've always assumed there's no way to "interrupt" the counters like that (and player's can't play responses) - and then we have a card that just sort of bypasses that. That totally changes my draft strategy...

Am I the only one having problems with wizards.com? When I try to go there, I get some sort of memory error. Thoughts?

That totally changes my draft strategy... It doesn't "interrupt" it... but it does see the counters going on the creature, and once the spell is done resolving (and the creature has two counters, you are correct that there is no chance to respond to the counters being put on it, that happens as part of spell resolution) the two triggers go on the stack.
On a different note, yeah flourishing defenses is pretty insane in draft in my experience.

I too am having trouble with the ruling on Flourishing Defenses with persist and other comes into play with -1/-1 counters effects.
"Whenever a -1/-1 counter is placed on a creature, you may put a 1/1 green Elf Warrior creature token into play."
The creature doesn't come into play and then get a -1/-1 counter, so I don't see the interaction between the abilities.
The article was good, and I really liked the ideas in the decks, but where's the prices for the decks? I'm know I'm being picky here, as I don't even play MtGO.

Placed If a spell or ability refers to a counter being placed on a permanent, it means putting a counter on that permanent while it’s in play, or that permanent coming into play with a counter. See rule 200.10c. The very definition of "placed" is what allows Doubling Season and Flourishing Defenses to work so well.
