Don't worry, I didn't get it.

Anyway, this article seemed a little light on Eventide design. It was more like a life lesson with some design notes tacked on at the end. The read wasn't bad, but it wasn't about Eventide as much as I would have liked.

I would . . . but sadly enough that was one of the first thoughts that popped into my head, too . . .

Well written article, as usual, and I somewhat enjoyed reading it . . . there really wasn't much of anything about Eventide conception, though, which was a bit disappointing.

Camelot probably picked the dullahan precisely BECAUSE it's Death's messenger (Charon, can summon one with the Necromancer, downright vicious, etc.).

From what I understand, dullahans aren't just vulnerable to gold items—they're absolutely terrified of gold. Is it because it's reminiscient of sunlight and life?

I'm calling it now: Connection of Stream Hopper and the fachan as part of next week. (And hopefully why Nucklavee isn't a Centaur Horror...)

Oooh, Golden Sun. I loved it so much. Hope they get to do the third one...

Was I the only one who felt Eventide's flavor was quite recycled? There were a few spectacular ones, but most of it either felt unimpressive or used the formula "Someone does so to the living and so to the dead" or "The living are so and the dead are so".

I went the other way with my Magic geekery not too long ago... The wife and I caught Hellboy 2 on Friday, which features an "indestructible" Golden Army. During one climactic scene, the heroes are reminded of this fact, but I couldn't help but note to my wife (who also plays and helps judge) Spoiler: Show

"that's not indestructability... that's regeneration. Completely different ability!"

Anyway, I really hope that Part 2 clears up something that was driving me crazy all weekend: why are Hags called "Hags" but Hags are called "Gwyllions"? Was there no other name available for the hags?

Nuckalavee not being a centaur is indeed confusing, Skyknight. Good call.

I had never seen the art of Endless Horizons at a larger size. Good example of a purely mechanical game card turned into a flavorful concept (a book growing wheat out of it). Congrats to whoever concepted this.

So I was reading the Eventide novel the other day and I got to the part where Spoiler: Show
ashling first attacks the saplings and her fire is deflected by Rys's yew poison
.

This got me wondering, could ashling actually kill the sapling seeing as how she is indestructible. Then I realized that, since the extinguisher mechanic forces you're opponent to sacrifice a creature, it dodges indestrucibility making ashling one of the few cards in eventide actually able to destroy the sapling of colfenor. I was just wondering if this was done intentionally by creative because if it was that is pretty freakin awesome.

I liked the article. I can accept the lack of much about Eventide due to the fact it is only part 1 of the story.

@Squest: Huh. I had never thought of that before. That is pretty cool.
