Aww, man. I was looking forward to Evil Mike Flores. I guess he's evil enough.
Or perhaps he's using his twin to play in more sanctioned events while he writes his articles, letting him continually boost his rankings. Next he'll be playing two tournaments at once. Devious!

Kitchen Finks is the most played Shadowmoor card in the Top 8.
Did the lack of Shadowmoor online prevent the pros from adequately testing the cards from this set? Or are the cards from this set just that underpowered?
Seems to me its the former.
Heck of a job, Magic Online team. You've not only killed revenue online, but now you've destroyed cardboard Shadowmoor sales (and probably Eventide) too!

And Christmas. They also ruined Christmas.
I think Mike's closing thoughts on Faeries are correct. There was lots of hate against Faeries out there, with maindeck Firespouts and Cloudthreshers not hard to find. That no doubt helped keep them down. If the hate goes away, the fae will rise to dominance again.

the top eight was BORING! No creativity. just the typical tribe decks we've seen for some time now. either Something's wrong with shadowmoor or people are just getting weaker at designing decks. look at those list. What is this yugioh?

What is this yugioh? It's not that there's anything wrong with Shadowmoor, it's just that by pushing tribal so hard in Lorwyn and Morningtide they reinvented Affinity. Now it's Affinity for creature type instead of artifacts.
And it's just as much fun to play against! (I say this as a guy who played nothing but Broodstar, then Ravager, then Ravager-Vial Affinity for as long as it was legal and they hadn't yet banned the Vial or Disciple.)
