There's some confusion here There are plenty of normal Revised Serendib Efreets, with the picture of the guy with green skin and black hair.
Summer Edition, aka Edgar, was another print run of Revised. It was an attempt to fix errors in Revised, and one of the fixes was that it had the proper Serendib Efreet art; i.e. it reused the art from the Arabian Nights version of Serendib Efreet (the disembodied blue guy).
However, Summer Edition screwed too many other things up, so most of it, including the fixed Serendib Efreets, was recalled and destroyed. [A few accidentally survived the recall.]
Regular Revised cards, including your friend's 4 Serendib Efreets, have a copyright section that lists the artists name. Summer Edition listed a copyright date of 1994
