lisa: I have to say it again...I really love your work. So much detail and dedication. I really wonder what kind of artist you have to be. Your art has its own soul and you've got great ideas. Many of lack those. Keep the good work up and I'm really looking forward to seeing more of your alternations.

Art like this blows me away. It becomes so much more than just paint on cardboard. It flows with the mechanical aspect of it, uniting the card in a way that the original isn't.
Its not just a "cover up" job either. The art flows with the card, with the mechanics, with the separate pieces of the unit, to make up a new whole. You still have the card, but it is something completely new, fluid, organic. Some artists cover up the box entirely, making it nothing but more background to be filled in. Some ignore it completely, leaving the details intact. But, these, that bring it in and make it part of the art and part of the overall feel, are my favorite. Just amazing.

WotC can't say squat about altered magic. Especially if the original artist is the one who is making the augmentations. Altered Art ROCKS! Some of them are simply crude and crappy, and others are the best i have ever seen! Power to anyone who is making altered art- good, bad, or ugly. Art is just that ART! The cards are not counterfeit. They are personalized expressions in physical form of an individuals abilities, characteristics, ideas, and such. That is basically the pot calling the kettle black in a fashion. Especially when WotC has stolen peoples ideas for original card mechanics and not paid the old school artists for what they originally painted for a card's illustration. KEEP ALTERED ART GOING!!!! ARTISTS AND AMATEURS ALIKE!!!!!

are the ebay suspensions really because of WotC? This seems really strange. I mean altered cards (painted on I mean) aren't a copy of the product but well...there's just paint on them. How about signed cards? guys? not to mention that they post articles about altered cards and think it's ok... yeah I can understand that painting them for yourself and painting them to sell them is a different matter. but still what law is actually infringed? otherwise... just extended arid mesa. I like the way it came out.
