Hey guys this is Dave Feinstein. I became the new owner of Die Hard Games about two months ago. I've been meaning to post in here for a while, just been busy

Every Friday we have $5 FNM at my store. Die Hard Games is located at 1005 Main St,#2230, Pawtucket RI 02860. Our hours are:

Monday 3-11 (open gaming)
Tuesday Closed
Wed 3-11 (drafts all day for $10)
Thursday 4-11 (sanctioned $5 legacy at 7:00)
Friday 2-Midnight ($5 standard FNM at 7:00)
Saturday 12-8 (scheduled tournaments)
Sunday 12-6 (open gaming)

We have a giant magic scene where pretty much all of the ranked players RI play, including some from Mass/CT. Our FNM's start at 7 and usually run into the late hours. The turnouts have been very good, averaging 30-40 every week.

I always pay out to top 8 (and sometimes 9th on tiebreaks :P). I let players choose from packs or my goody table. The goody table has been very popular and there are usually alot of valuable type 2 cards on it to choose from. For example the night I had 41 people, finals split and took home BitterBlossom, 2 Garruks and a Malestrom Pulse. Not bad for $5

On Friday July 17th in addition to normal prizes the winner will be given free entry to GP Boston and second place will get 10 free power lotto tickets that can be used at the event. This is also the first night of M10 legality so it should be fun. :D

I have the RI M10 Pre-release this Saturday July 11th, as well as the Launch Party on July 18th. The pre-release starts at 10, launch party at noon.

That's everything I can think of. If you're ever in the RI area I strongly encourage you to stop by. If you're new to Magic or just getting back in I regularly do demos and am always happy to assist in deckbuilding.

Thanks for reading and hopefully see you soon

Wednesday and Friday are the hotspot days of the week for magic gaming. Wednesday offering sanctioned drafts literally whenever you walk in the door to whenever Dave either runs out of product or decides to go to sleep that night, whichever comes first (and both take a while.) Friday obviously is has Friday Night Magic where for $5 you get a chance to walk away with about $35-50 in stuff. Solid, tradeable, tournament quality stuff. Not many places in RI/MA can put up numbers like 30-40 regular FNM players, so it is definitely worth taking the time to locate the shop - which can be a little tricky so I'd advise coming down on a Wednesday to get a feel for it then coming down for FNM a couple days later.

Oh, and bring trades. Everybody loves to trade. Laughing

There's a difference between knowing the path and walking the path.

Great place to check out!

I haven't attended the gaming sessions there but prices on most cards are well below "full value".  Most packs are 3 for $10, and Zendikar pre-order was $98/booster box this week.

Dave's very personable and you can tell he loves the game.

The store itself can be a little hard to find if you've never been there - if you're facing the Hope Artist mall, walk into the left side (opposite the bar).  From that front door just head all the way to the back - it's on the right, after The GameKeeper.

Thank you for the kind words.  People like you are why I'm in this business Smile

Just found out Die Hard Games will be hosting Rhode Island States on Dec 5th.  www.the2009s.com for more information.

FNM's are a great way to gear up for this event, as well as meet new people.  I've been playing Magic in Rhode Island for 14 years and still constantly meet new people at FNM, which is awesome.

I am a biased source :p, but I believe my store is a great place to play Magic.  The people who come in the door are what make the events special, and I couldn't ask for a better group of players.

Thanks again for the support and hopefully see you soon.
