"and not just belive the player when they summarize what it does."
See, I'm the other way around. I want them to actually understand how it works, not just take my word for it, because then I'll have to explain it all later anyway when I try to do some stack trick with the card.

i tend not to like the players rather than the decks. i tend to play EDH, and the people who think every single person in play hasn't even seen any of the cards and declare them, then explain what they do, even though they've been using the same card for several weeks and everyone there knows what it does perfectly. i also tend not to like the reader, the new kid who has to read every card, and not just belive the player when they summarize what it does. QUOTE]
I like that, how you don't like both the guy who summarizes what his cards do and the guy who can't just use the summary.

Nothing aggravates me that much. I mean, I get attacked by everyone pretty much every game but I usually win anyway. The only things that **** me off are when people do things to hurt me just because it'll hurt me, even when logically it'll help BOTH of us if they do something else.
Like there was one game where someone could've finished off another player who was about to win the game because they had the exact amount of damage on the board that could do it and then fight me, but instead they just killed me because I tapped out trying to beat the dominant player and lost to the other guy the next turn.
In other words: playing for second place.

Can't say anything really aggravates me, but there are a few minor annoyances. 1. Playing the same deck every single game. Now I know some people are on a budget, but my playgroup does share decks if someone asks. Every game I garantee Player "A" will play w/g midrange. Player "B" will always play some token deck varient with elves and wellwisher s. While it's nice to know your metagame, when creating a new deck I always have to stop and say, "Oh yeah, better devote X slots to dealing with those tokens I know I'll be playing against next game". Just feels like it limits creativity. And it's not like they win with it anyway. Sure, at first it dominated since nobody had a deck that was prepared for it, but now it never wins since everyone knows it by heart and stomps it into the ground on auto-pilot. Side note: about 9 players in the group with 4-6 showing up any given night, and most do vary their decks, so the meta isn't dull when we have the right players.2. Knocking a table to end your turn. Now this was with someone that is relatively new to the group so I can't complain too much. But our MP group is as much about hanging out with friends over pizza and drinks as it is smashing said friends' skulls in. Just seems like an impersonal gesture you would see at a serious tournament. Add to that that half the time you don't hear the knock so someone sits around for 1-3 minutes not knowing it is their turn and the game slows down (2 minutes is 20 over 10 turns). Saying "go" is so much easier. 3. Infinite combo. If they win, they win, but I gun for them from turn one if they try using the deck two games in a row.

The idiot who brings a Blue Counterspell deck to the 5 player game and proceeds to sit to my right. Yep, counter each card I play for the first 4 turns and let everyone else just build and build. My only retort is to point how much better it was to counter my grizzly bear instead of that platinum angel . Good Job! Also, the boyfriend/girlfriend team-play. Uhm, if we wanted to play 2 headed giant, we'd play TWO HEADED GIANT! Garrrrr! Along with the BG-Friends are the two Yuck Yuck buddiess who think it would be a blast to bring their sliver decks into the game at the same time and smash everyone. Next game for me is always my Goblins Go Boom deck where I bring a type 1.5 goblim deck and just kill one of the dynamic duo's and start in on the 2nd one before getting whacked from the game. Nohting like fork ing a goblin grenade after hitting with a bloodlust ed goblin.

In high school I played with about the same four people every day at lunch. Me being a Timmy/Johnny of relatively meager means, meant that my decks were rarely a match for my normal opponents. Player 1 was the forementioned Standard = Casual player who only had about two decks: a ghazi - glare deck that was nearly unstoppable and a somewhat more casual Grave pact deck. My other opponets consisted of the following: Mr. Lucky - A player whose decks are normally ridiculous when they work, but in the anyone else's hands it would never get pulled off. However, this player seems to have the ability to topdeck whatever he needs without fail. Even after being accused of poor shuffling and having another player shuffle his deck, the results are the same. The Noob Alliance - Two to three players who owned approximately one deck apiece, normally a precon, which they modified (Made worse). They have enough skill to realize that barring some sort of a miracle they have no hope of winning individually. Upon realizing this they band together and contiuously attack the player who is (comparitively) the least threat (i.e. me) no matter what. Thus, every day I would lose to a combined assault of The Noob Alliance, Mr. Lucky, and Standard Guy.

Mr. "Every deck I have is secretly a combo deck" - I usually attack him, but all of his combos are so inconsistent that it's not always the best idea to put taking him out as top priority. And the other players never see him as that threatening. So I usually have to keep some kind of spot removal in my hand for when he finally tries to put that sinking feeling on that morselhoarder .
