if i have 2 circle of affliction  out and i pay one mana will the gain/lose life effect be doubled? or must i pay the cost for each circle

You can not spend the same 1 Mana to pay for both of the Triggered abilities. Similarly, you can not play 2 Shock  s with the same  .

Each will trigger separately, and when each ability resolves, you're given the option of paying  . A single mana won't pay for both of them.
