Decklist:Spoiler: Show Another possibile direction to take B/R aggro decks in, is the following by Magic Online's Th00mor: use Gathan Raiders, Mindlash Sliver, and Skirk Ridge Exhumer to discard Bridge from Below and Nether Traitor. Those two cards - while in the graveyard - provide a nice steady flow of creatures, which can be abused when you play Fallen Ideal on Greater Gargadon. It sounds like a bunch of unplayable cards thrown together, but the synergy is undeniable and he did place 2nd in a Premier Event with that concoction.

This white-red control deck runs the combo of Magus of the Tabernacle plus Boom/Bust (along with Prismatic Lens and Coalition Relic to stick around). It also has creature control in Desolation Giant and Temporal Isolation, a typical win condition in Greater Gargadon, etcetera.

CP: The deck you have here is very unique. Explain really what is going on here.

dadadad: Brine Elemental + Vesuvan Shapeshifter accumulates most of my wins. Taking five turns in a row is pretty powerful as well. Honestly, what do decks do to Threaten you? Decks in this format give their opponent so much time, and Counterspell decks just don't play enough counterspells. Most people believe that Rites of Flourishing helps them out, but I still do receive the Exploration effect the turn its comes into play. The deck is designed to utilize the cards Rites of Flourishing gives more than the decks you play against. Rites of Flourishing also makes the drawback of Fathom Seer irrelevant.

CP: How often do you cast Walk the Aeons with buyback?

dadadad: It really depends how many lands you have in play and what you have in your hand. You don't really want to go under six to seven lands. The only time I like to buy it back is when I have Rite of Flourishing in play or a lot of lands in the late game. Luckily, it is very easy to accumulate a bunch of lands.

CP: What is Magus of the Jar for?

dadadad: I rarely use the Magus, but it is really good against sliver decks. I made a guy draw 21 cards in one turn and decked him. Magus of the Jar can help against any deck but it is pretty hard to keep alive. But if it does live…

CP: Any last words?

dadadad: It's hard to give a playbook on how to play the deck. It just takes time and trial and error. It's basically instinct which is probably why I do so poorly in the mirror. I have really been wanting to add Pongify to side in against opposing Vesuvan Shapeshifters.
