Decklist:Spoiler: Show Another possibile direction to take B/R aggro decks in, is the following by Magic Online's Th00mor: use Gathan Raiders, Mindlash Sliver, and Skirk Ridge Exhumer to discard Bridge from Below and Nether Traitor. Those two cards - while in the graveyard - provide a nice steady flow of creatures, which can be abused when you play Fallen Ideal on Greater Gargadon. It sounds like a bunch of unplayable cards thrown together, but the synergy is undeniable and he did place 2nd in a Premier Event with that concoction.

This white-red control deck runs the combo of Magus of the Tabernacle plus Boom/Bust (along with Prismatic Lens and Coalition Relic to stick around). It also has creature control in Desolation Giant and Temporal Isolation, a typical win condition in Greater Gargadon, etcetera.

This deck is turbo Sliver beatdown, and it can even poison out the opponent. Virulent Sliver, Homing Sliver (more poison please), and Summoner's Pact (more poison please). Oh boy. The deck is discussed in this article by BDM.

Interview courtecy of Cedric Phillips:

CP: How has the mana base been working out for you? I notice that you aren't running Grove of the Burnwillows even though you are splashing green.

Lordrandom01: 24 land in addition to four Looter il-Kor makes everything work out just fine. I have a deep Hatred for Grove of the Burnwillows. I do own four, but I believe that they only work well in combination with Kavu Predator or in the sliver decks. I am playing four Psionic Blast and four Fiery Temper which often go to the head, so I would rather not give them any extra life.

CP: How has Reckless Wurm been for you in this tournament? Arrogant Wurm used to see tons of play, but Reckless Wurm can't really seem to earn any respect.

Lordrandom01: Reckless Wurm is very solid. In the casual rooms, you see a decent amount of decks trying to be built around madness. This is more of a tempo deck with madness conveniently fitting in.

CP: How do you feel your matchup is against the different types of Mystical Teachings decks?

Lordrandom01: If Looter il-Kor lives, I win. Otherwise, it is a decent game that favors the Mystical Teachings decks game one. Delay and Stormbind come in after sideboard to help turn the tide in that matchup.

CP: How do you feel about your other matchups in the format?

Lordrandom01: My matchup against any of the Tarmogoyf decks and Mono Blue Pickles are both very much in my favor and Poisonous Slivers is very easy because they roll over to Dead/Gone. White Weenie is normally a pretty difficult matchup and Wild Pair Slivers crushes me.

Interview courtecy of Cedric Phillips:

CP: The deck you have here is very unique. Explain really what is going on here.

dadadad: Brine Elemental + Vesuvan Shapeshifter accumulates most of my wins. Taking five turns in a row is pretty powerful as well. Honestly, what do decks do to Threaten you? Decks in this format give their opponent so much time, and Counterspell decks just don't play enough counterspells. Most people believe that Rites of Flourishing helps them out, but I still do receive the Exploration effect the turn its comes into play. The deck is designed to utilize the cards Rites of Flourishing gives more than the decks you play against. Rites of Flourishing also makes the drawback of Fathom Seer irrelevant.

CP: How often do you cast Walk the Aeons with buyback?

dadadad: It really depends how many lands you have in play and what you have in your hand. You don't really want to go under six to seven lands. The only time I like to buy it back is when I have Rite of Flourishing in play or a lot of lands in the late game. Luckily, it is very easy to accumulate a bunch of lands.

CP: What is Magus of the Jar for?

dadadad: I rarely use the Magus, but it is really good against sliver decks. I made a guy draw 21 cards in one turn and decked him. Magus of the Jar can help against any deck but it is pretty hard to keep alive. But if it does live…

CP: Any last words?

dadadad: It's hard to give a playbook on how to play the deck. It just takes time and trial and error. It's basically instinct which is probably why I do so poorly in the mirror. I have really been wanting to add Pongify to side in against opposing Vesuvan Shapeshifters.
