Oh crap, not Humility again!
Oh, it doesn't have the "lose all abilities" text. That's slightly better. Still, those rules issues are confusing...>_> Funny, my actual response, verbatim was:
"Holy **** it's ****ing Humility. I love you Mark Rosewater!"
Then I realized it wasn't actually Humility and I started to like it less... but it's still awesome. 10/10

And now for the question on all our minds: How does this interact with Tarms ? Very simply. If the Goddess is in play, 'Goyf is a 1/1, regardless of graveyards. Those stars are a giveaway for a characteristic-defining ability; they're not needed, but if they're there, you're in layer 6a). Therefore, the Goddess' Layer 6b) ability wins out. And Crovax, Ascendant Hero says nonwhite creatures die, barring other effects.

Preview card is pretty cool. I can see myself snagging a playset.
The hybrid thing is very interesting and I will like it as long as the cards are like this one, where it can go in a white deck or a blue deck. Beyond that, yeah, I am with most of the people that are simply more interested in this set than Lorwyn or Morningtide. Granted I was not Lorwyn's biggest fan, but the darker theme and the lack of tribal-based mechanics are automatic upgrades.

The section in the article where Mark goes running around with his idea about hybrid reminds me of a movie.
Did anyone see "The Hudsucker Proxy"?

I agree that I'm not sure what makes this card Blue. I'm also not sure what makes it work with the Shadowmoor flavor of being the dark side of a fairy tale.
So um... does this make them 1/1 vanillas or just their power and toughness into 1/1? I'm assuming it just makes their power and toughness 1/1, since it doesn't specifically say they lose their abilities, but that is horribly unclear on that card. That part isn't unclear at all. Just imagine that you've never heard of Humility , and all will become clear.

Godhead of Awe is a pretty cool card, but I don't see how it's blue in any way other than being a 4/4 flyer for 5. (And, y'know, other colours get that too.) Setting creatures' p/t to 1/1 or 0/1 has always been white . ( Black gets to make them 0/2, green gets to make them 0/4... blue has had two cards that set P/T, but one of them was in the colour-weird set, so I'm somewhat confused.)
Hybrid is only interesting if the card is an effect that's plausible in both the colours it's hybrid between. Rhys just about manages that, since white is the second-biggest token colour after green. Demigod of Revenge has haste (red/black) and self-reanimation (black, with minor white and red splashes), so it's not very red. But Godhead of Awe is even less blue than Demigod of Revenge is red. Not too impressed so far. I think I remember reading somewhere that blue was going to get more "becomes X/Y" in the future.
That said, I do agree that excessive color bleeding in hybrid cards is a bad thing. If Shadowmoor turns out to be a block full of Giant Solifuge s, I will be very disappointed.

I think I remember reading somewhere that blue was going to get more "becomes X/Y" in the future. Yes I recall that as well. It's a more recent addition, and blue isn't the primary color on P/T setting, but it's in the color pie.

Oh no! This card is going to be a pain; no one seems to want to learn the rules of the game, and as such we'll be seeing endless confusion.
