To be fair, the only reason people play LLotV (even in their side boards) is because of this deck. There isn't another deck around that couldn't be fought equally or better with a different card.
PS. Though I haven't added it to the list of winning decks yet a mana dredge split for first (winning on tie breakers) of a 90 person tournament. What I found interesting was that he chose to run no dread returns or dr targets. I also like the inclusion of force of will, basically turning the deck into dead man fish.
Also, after testing I believe that mana denial builds of ichorid are the only way to go and have an appreciable chance of winning tournaments (this only applies to manaless as I have stopped testing mana versions a long time ago). Running petrified fields comes at too high of an opportunity cost in the current metagame. I would replace them, darkblast and 1 thug for 4 wastes and 1 strip if I were to play tomorrow. If anyone sees flaws in this feel free to share them.
At the end of the gush meta I decided to go to fields because I believed that wastes would run rampant in every top deck, this has shown to be far from accurate and I will go back to my stronger mana denial strategy.

So the 315 person Erovino 3 event ended a little while ago and the results certainly interested me. This is largely due to the fact that the top two decks that split for first being two of the most derided decks in competitive vintage, these decks being Manaless Ichorid and Goblins. Yes, you heard me right. Goblins and Ichorid won a 315 person event! Absolutely awesome! Im fairly new to the vintage scene and this is the one deck i liked that I can affor (minus teh bazaars of course) Im planning on taking this to a vintage tournament soon and I was wondering is the starcity games list the most optimal or is the one in the op with petrified fields and whatnot better/more consistent?
Also, how consistent is this deck really? Im probably jjust mulliginning horribly but i never seems to get umask or cabal therapy even casted (my meta currently is sphere effect crazy with my main opponents being metalworker.deck and tezzeret)
also does tanglewire, smokestacks, and ichorid use the stack? if so, does my opponent chose during my upkeep how stacks/ tanglewire stack?

Why only three ichorids? shouldnt this deck play 4 always? also I'm debating my sideboard currently and I know 4 Chain of Vapor  is an auto include nd with the rise of vault key we need artifact hate so 4 Pithing Needle  and I'm thinking 3 ancient grudge  as a playable card even if I dredge into it to handle explosives/powder keg/vault/etc. Heres my list 4 Stinkweed Imp  4 Golgari Grave-Troll  4 Golgari Thug  2 Darkblast  4 Narcomoeba  4 Ichorid  2 Cephalid Sage  1 River Kelpie  1 Angel of Despair  1 Ancestor's Chosen  1 Flamekin Zealot  2 Fatestitcher  4 Bridge From Below  3 Breakthrough  3 Dread Return  4 Cabal Therapy  4 Unmask  4 Cephalid Coliseum  4 Bazaar of Baghdad  4 City of Brass  I'm debating on cutting a darblast and a city of brass for two Dryad Arbor  or a Darkblast for the 4th breakthrough, any thoughts?
