3-0 Last night, 1st place. Ran Kithkin, as always, and removed the two Militia's Prides... I failed to Hallowed Burial last night... I can usually make a combat with the Prides. Pulled: GSS, Foil Dragonskull(same pack as GSS), Gargoyle Castle, Lightwielder Paladin.

All three are both yes and no as answers, all three are great cards and im gonna go out onnna limb and say orchids will be a chase rare soon with all the land matters theme in Zendikar, but its way to early to tell what is going to be the new WW based upon what the spoilers have shown considering that alot of the good ones will be leaving soon and so much of the card advantage that was with them is leaving as well. WW will be around but it might go into a soldier theme or a more exalted theme. Its just insanely hard to predict at this moment what way is going to be the most optimal when other than a few cards zens not looking that hot/dont lok like they will be synergizing well with alara oddly.

Here is my first take at a post-rotation soldiers based WW deck. It has a small spash of G to play Dauntless Escort. I worry that the mana curve is perhaps too high because it has 0 1CC creatures and 8 3CC creatures, so the curve is not even close to a usual sligh curve. However, I thought that the quality of cards in the 2 and 3 CMC slots were much better than Akrasan Squire and Elite Vanguard, my two best choices for 1 CMC creatures. Constructive criticism is appreciated. 13 Plains 1 Forest 1 Emeria, the Sky Ruin 4 Sunpetal Grove 4 Terramorphic Expanse 4 Kazandu Blademaster 4 Kor Aeronaut 4 Veteran Armorsmith 4 Dauntless Escort 4 Veteran Swordsmith 2 Captain of the Watch 4 Honor of the Pure 4 Journey to Nowhere 3 Armored Ascension 4 Path to Exile

How about something like this for soldiers: 3x Elite Vanguard W 3x Veteran Armorsmith WW 3x Kor Aeronaut WW (2/2 flier with kicker) 3x Kaz Blademaster WW (2/2 first strike, vigilant) 3x Veteran Swordsmith 2W 3x Kor Hookmaster 2W (2/2 sleeps a creature when it citp) 2x Baneslayer Angel 3WW (doesn't really fit, but having trouble arguing with it) 2x Captain of the Watch 4WW ------ 2x Elspeth 2WW
2x Journey to Nowhere 1W
4x Harm's Way W
4x Honor of the Pure 1W
4x Brave the Elements W (brutal card that protects my dudes and lets me run past theirs)
2x Conqueror's Pledge 2WWW (6 soldiers for 5 mana. Not sure if I like it more than Coup) 20x Plains Sideboard might have Lapse of Certainty for Wrath effects and Coup for other creature mob decks.

^ I say drop the hook masters. they are more control and only really lock down a creature for a bit. I say replace them with a 4th Elite Vanguard and a 4th armor smith. also I it is generally agreed that Ajani is better than elspeth so your 3rd space should go to a 3rd Ajani after you replace the elspeths.
