Is this really deserving of being an archetype? I mean Fog's obviously never gunna be T1 but I mean really, has a fog deck EVER won a tournament (regionals and up) in the last 3 years?

No but now it has the oppurtunity to take back the format ive been playing this deck forever and done severly well in local tourneys and regionals and states barely missing in both of these tourneys to random JANK!

Yeah, it has to go in there somewhere. Under fog you think?

Sleeper Agent is very annoying.
I played games where people would WoG themselves because of the damn thing.

Cool, thanks! Got a sideboard? Any info you can offer on matchups - especially the various control decks?

I was going to make this archetype...however i believe that Hoofprints of the Stag is almost needed to make this deck competitive anymore. and believe me it makes the control match cake, 4/4 flyers every other turn just about matches control enough to mill their ass. ^^

Well that is just my 2 cents.

EDIT: Also TurboFog's Biggest problem is Fae which is still a HUGE deck, i can go at far it saying that it is a 10-90 match up, if they don't have a mistbind clique the turn before you banefire FTW from thier Bitterblossom damage, you can win, but that is really they only way it is happening.

Besides that I can say a good player can do quite good against ANY match-up if you are a good pilot.
I think i only lost to crappy homebrew decks, fae, and SOMETIMES 5cc.

Though this deck hasn't WON in the last 3 years, i have noticed a high amount of top-8s when it was bigger.

which is a lot more than you can say about some decks.

I guess I should give it a try again. It is very different from the general strategy of the deck, and it never worked well when I tried it before. Depending on your build, it isn't needed against 5CC - but I can see where it would help against Fae.

Fae is bound to be a tough match. Fae is hard for just about everyone - but you're right, we have to try to have SOME kinda game against them. Volcanic Fallout is perfect, and if we could run 8 of those I think that would just about do it. Speaking now of my deck in the OP, if Fae is more common in your meta VC would replace WoG.

Someone mentioned Teeg - VC handles him pretty well too. Fortunately Dark Bant isn't running Shield of the Oversoul.

I tried it, and it's in my side for control type decks.
It's alright, but nothing major that makes the deck what it is.
5cc and fae is this decks worst match up, for sure.
Any control deck for that matter, 'cept bord control (as said).
I'm not too sure about Boat Brew, however.
Burn isn't a problem once you side in Tenders and Red hate.
Mana Ramp is easy, same goes for WW and Tokens.
Not sure about Dark Bant, never played against it yet.

Try the deck in the OP out against the Nassif 5CC (I think that build will become the most common build). It is well in TurboFog's favor, imho. And that is VERY encouraging. Fae will certainly be tougher than 5CC, but I have high hopes. I tried a similar sideboard against Merfolk, and that went very well. More testing is needed, and I hope we can work out a way to have some real game against those decks.

Side:
1 Infest
3 Story Circle
3 Hoofprints of the Stag
4 Oblivion Ring
4 Burrtion Forge Tender

Match ups:

RDW: Pre-side, they're going to burn you as fast as they can. Not much you can do here but Ruined Halo on Demi or maybe a Burn spell if it becomes desperate. Side in the Tenders for sure, same for Story Circle to help with the burn.

White Weenie: Very simple. They're going aggro, and nothing more. Keep fogging 'em and they will get annoyed. Story circcle in side if needed.

5 Color Control: Very hard. They barly go aggro, and all of your deck is aggro hate. Watch out for Cruel, it's there main win con. Side in Hoofprints to try and help the match up, with Howling Mine and Spiteful, the tokens come in quick against 5cc.

Mana Ramp: Easy. They get out as much mana as they can for Broodmate, Threasher, and some other things like Banefire. Ruined Halo on Banefire and you're fine. The most they can really do is Shock you with Volcanic Fallout. Side in O-Rings for Garruk.

Tokens: Another easy match up. They go all aggro, so it's not that hard for them to get annoyed. Try to get rid of Ajani and their life gain, it can slow down Spiteful. Side in O-Ring for Ajani, and Story Circle if needed. Also Infest for obvious reasons.

Fae: Hardest Match up. This deck can destory Fog no problem with t1 Thoughtsieze, t2 Bitterblossom, t3 Jace, etc.
Side in Hoofprints to try to improve the match up. Don't count on it though.

Boat Brew: Unknown. Side in Tenders, and O-Ring for Ajani V. Maybe side in Infest.

Dark Bant / Zoo: Unkown. Get rid of Gaddok Teeg asap
