Hey there,

This is number 1 in the line of hopefully at least a few more blogs that i'll put up here.

During the years that i've gm-ed I've allways come across the same problems.

1) I get an idea for a setting
2) I get carried away and a stream of idea's pour forth from me
3) I start drawing maps of the region, cities, guildhalls,shops,inns etc
4) finnish about 30 to 40% of it, at which point it is plenty to go on for at least 20 sessions if not double that amount.
5) 3 or 4 months into gm-ing this new setting for my group I / someone else gets a new idea for a setting and its back to point 1 again.

Now that we got this far I go to step 6, which is what I like to call Indirect gameplay.

6) add what content has been created to the homebrew worldmap. Minding carefully or not where its placed, adding

The version of D&D I played the most is AD&D 1st edition (say 1985-1991), I liked 2nd edition and still played it for a few years (say 1991-1993) then I just played a little and followed as an outsider 3rd edition, 4th edition put me back in the mood of playing I found all the feel of 1st edition (but I am still waiting for the Illusionist). 

With 4th edition I started a game online as a player and a campaign online as DM, now I am looking forward for a table campaign for the winter months :)

always a DM but I just love the 4th ed world and rules.

 

My campaign will be based in a sea town, I feel that there are too little seatown in published material ^__^, the world will be the "general" 4th ed world

the name of this town is in italian but in english would be something like "Castle
