I'm just trying to get some tournaments started and players together in the Alamogordo/Holloman AFB area.  It is more than an hour from Holloman to the nearest card shop.  In this area, there are way too many people with free time for us not to have a place to gather.  I'll do what I can to create the initial interest, but I'll need help to perpetuate events, and bring more players into the game.  Look for flyers around HAFB, or the events newsletter being distributed by some of the dorm event organizers.  See ya around.

While I had visions of it being glorious, it was evident that I lacked the experience with current cards. I crammed everything I could to prepare myself for todays PTQ. I thought I had the answers for everyones archtype decks that they "borrowed" off the internet. It turns out I did, but I failed where many players do. I was destroyed by sideboarding. It was painfully obvious that my last minute sideboard was a terrible idea.

My day went something like this:
Match 1.
Game 1: Opponent decides to play first. Guess what? It was a wolf run. I am like nice, this will be a beautiful thing. So I start stacking mana while mana-leaking what ever I can. Eventually he gets a few minis out. These minis where nothing, elves and birds you know... mana for an eventual titan...

Hi All,

First off, i wanted to update the game sooner yet there where some difficulties, (will not effect the game day)

About me:

As I stated in my previous post, I was hoping for an experience. Well, I certainly got it.

Last weekend was probably one of the most stressful I've had in a really long time. I'm trying not to let the negativity of the weekend affect my reflections back on the weekend, but really, I can't say I enjoyed it too much. Not honestly. However, this had nothing to do with the tournament itself.

The drive from Jacksonville to Atlanta is about five to six hours, depending on traffic and how fast you drive. My boyfriend and I decided that it would be best to take my car, as my car gets great gas mileage and it's pretty roomy on the inside for our two friends that were riding with us to the event.

We ended up leaving Jacksonville around 5:00 pm after waiting for one of our friends to get off

Paul Levy was quoted saying "Magic Celebration will bring those players together on September 10 at Wizards Play Network locations around the globe in an event unlike other we’ve ever had.  More information about the specific event details will be released later this summer."

Wizards of the Coast has been doing some amazing things the past few years, not only with putting out some high quality sets and products, but also with reorganizing the tournament scene.  They certainly have been helping the Wizard Play Network stores go above and beyond to bring you, the players, the best events and promos that we've seen in any game support! We'll keep updating you as we get more information, but keep that date save to be at Collector's Corner Inc in Midland, Michigan

I just finished SCG helping them wrap up Season 1 of 2011 with the SCG: Indianapolis Open and Invitational.  Unlike many other judging experiences, I got to spend Day 1 surrounded by awesome judging talent - every judge on staff was at least a Level 2 judge, meaning a high calibur of judging and discussion throughout the day.  It definitely made me take a step back and look at my own judging to be around such hard working and dedicated leaders in the judge program, let alone 140 top notch players battling for the title!

This weekend was also a time for me to reflect on the journey that judging has been for me and how my perspective has changed so much in the last two years.  When I first started judging and became L1 in May of 2009, I told Judge David Rappaport from
