EPISODE FIFTY: Old Friends (Level 19)
There was a fearsome battle in the mine. Tethaylaer was evidently in possession of terrible power as a vampire lord. He bore down on Nirvani, having recognized her as the only visible attacker when he was first killed, and as the fool who cast the Speak with Dead ritual on his severed head. Sadhai and Fastus went around to the other entrance to the chamber. They battled with disfigured vampires while Nirvani and Arhuzimel fought off Tethaylaer. Not long into the fight, Kloric and Evran showed up. They came looking for the others, who had been gone for hours, and heard the sounds of battle echoing ...

EPISODE FORTY-NINE: Tuluro Mine (Level 19)
The party returned to the mine in Tuluro. Nirvani and Fastus convinced Cauvin’s civilized hobgoblins to relocate to the Norlythe through a portal. She took them to Binbara and they set out to create a dwelling in the mountain wilderness nearby.

EPISODE FORTY-EIGHT: Darkplane Descending (Level 19)
While resting, the party could see hundreds of aberrant creatures land like meteors and pour out of the portal at the center of the necropolis. Distraught and fatigued, Kloric returned to Vinramar to bring Arabella into the Shadowfell. Her arcane knowledge would be invaluable in getting Evran out of the Darkplane. Upset at an altercation between Sadhai and Fastus, Nirvani flew off to be alone. While she was gone, a group of aberrations noticed the party on the hill and went in for the kill. Leading them was Joldon Lorrough, the priest of Daemoth that Sadhai had killed only three days before. He had been warped and changed ...

A few years after 4e came out, I fled the collectible mathematical combat paragraphs and intricate decision-killing synergies to make my own edition of D&D, one that could use, with minimal adjustment, all the edition books and basic box sets of spells and monsters I had. Players use this page instead of the books for the main rules (it is however written with the assumption one knows the very basics). So, for what it's worth:

EPISODE FORTY-SEVEN: The Feast of Souls (Level 18)
Cauvin’s chieftain was less than enthusiastic about the move, but asked the party to give him some time and aid in finding a new dwelling. Meanwhile, there was something terrifying living in the lower levels of the mine. Conflicting accounts of wild animals, missing children, and other horrors were reasons for Cauvin’s people to consider a departure. Arhuzimel had the wicked idea to provoke the mysterious dark power into emerging, driving out the hobgoblin without further argument. In the meantime, the party had other business to attend to. They were headed into the Shadowfell to dispatch the aspect ...

EPISODE FORTY-SIX: Dirty Work (Level 18)
After recovering from the terror of Daemoth’s aspect, Arhuzimel and Sadhai infiltrated the headquarters of the Weeping Spirits assassin guild. They scaled the walls, slipped in almost invisibly, and quickly painted black over the gaudy crest, which Arhuzimel noticed bore a hand with the palm on the back. Soon a group of the leading assassins strolled into the room, and they were forced to unleash the zombies. Arhuzimel and Sadhai had a brief encounter with the leader of the group as they snatched his lady from her bower and took her on a swan dive from the window into the river below, where Nirvani was waiting ...

Before I say anything else: Within this wall of text you will find details of the first public draft of the Xaosmith, an elemental defender that can be played from level 1 to level 30, with two complete builds and two paragon paths. But we’ll get to that in a minute… Chaos and TimeThe revelation of 5th edition makes it exceptionally unlikely that we will see true, official elemental classes produced any time soon, so I would like to reaffirm my commitment to proving the viability of the elemental power source by creating four fully-functional elemental classes. I’ve been doing quite a lot of tinkering these past months, albeit less than I would have liked, and for a few months I was bound to silence on the topic; I have sent in, and received a rejection for, a Dragon ...

EPISODE FORTY-FIVE: Nightbringer (Level 18)
Nirvani, frustrated with Sadhai’s unwillingness to give up the Nightbringer sword, took Arabella on a therapeutic shopping trip downtown. After getting lost for most of the morning looking for signs of black market magic shops, they eventually found their way into an antique store with the tell-tale tokens of an underground arcane dealer. In the shop, they met the keeper Nossthond, who was a bit rude with the giggling women until they hinted that they were looking for arcane materials, particularly a ritual of finding. He lit up and became extremely interested in Arabella and her impressive arcane knowledge. He agreed ...

Eberron SubracesFor my upcoming campaign, I thought I'd make some subraces for my players, a la Neverwinter Campaign setting.
The drow of Xendrick are quite different from those of other worlds. They are divided into three clans: the savage Vulkoori, the fiery Sultalar, and the mystic Umbragen. |
