I just realized it's probably a good idea to get a common header in the titles so they can all be grouped together somehow, so I'll be prefacing these entries with The Banished: from now on, and I'll go see if I can retrofit it into my previous posts.
We're still not caught up with the present, there's probably another four or five posts to go, which hopefully I'll have done before the next session.
Also I've noticed the constant dialog of the group is being severely cropped, which I'll try to include more of and less of the background.  In case it's hard to infer, here is a basic psych profile of the group:
Cais is a longtooth shifter barbarian who loves destroying terrain and as far as I can tell is only trained in the Intimidate skill.
Coal is a black-coated longtoogh shifter (who I suspect

Before their very first mission is over, I am already regretting having the clerk request the ears of their vanquished foes ...

The group had little trouble handling the pack of unprepared goblins.  Cais had a tendency to insert himself into the center of a swarm of stabbing spears, while Ashiga couldn't seem to extract herself fast enough.  Ereven deftly twisted through the straglers in the back to strike at the goblin's shaman, and found himself blinded by the dark taint of Maglubiyet for his troubles.  As the goblins fell, the shaman called out a retreat to notify 'The Boss' and the few left standing ran in different directions.  Snow transformed into a bear and ripped the throat out of one runner, and Mazama tossed an eldritch blast that reduced the last goblin standing (actually

Little did I know that when the party chose the name The Banished that they were actually stating a goal.  Their first day of duty resulted in them being kicked out of nearly every establishment they visited ...

The stockaded New Phlan bustled with newly arrived mercenaries exploring their new surroundings and the local businesses  seeking to wring out as much coin as they could before it was lost out in the wilder parts of the Old city.  The Cracked Crown Inn, finest establishment in the entire city, as well as its neighbor The Goblin's Bucket, seediest tavern this side of the stockade, were both overflowing around the corner.  Ereven wrinkled his nose as he sidestepped a collapsed drunkard freshly thrown from the Bucket's front window.  A weary guard blew his whistle and began hauling

I have recently migrated my group from 3.5 to 4e, and the campaign they are cutting their teeth on is my adaptation of FRC1 Ruins of Adventure, more popularly known as Pool of Radiance.  The game has been going on for about six weeks now, so the beginning will be a bit of catch-up.
Leaflets circulating throughout the Moonsea told of great fortunes to be found to those brave enough to face the perils of a city in unrest and clear out the unsavory elements that have infested the port city of Phlan for fifty years.  Mercenaries, Cutthroats, and every other conceivable type of opportunist have been filtering into Phlan over the past few years, though they filter out just as quickly at the end of goblins' blades or on the prison barge.  Which brings me to our heroes.
The Duty Officer of

Hello, my name is Sam, and I'm a chronic Dungeon Master.

It's been awhile since I've worn the proverbial pointy hat of the DM, at least in its usual guise. It's true, I'm the Game Master of a vaguely D&D based LARP, and I did run a 4th edition game some time back set in the X-Crawl milieu, but neither of those are really quite the same thing. GMing a LARP is a delicate balance of player goals and long-term plots, a constant exercise in compromise between me and the three other GMs, and a host of other things I'll write about at a later date; X-Crawl was pure, unabashed dungeon crawl which, after four sessions, I found exceedingly boring to run. By the end of summer, I was itching to return to my roleplaying roots.

Return to my roots, to be sure, but also exceed them. In part, the origins

This week I give you a few news 'toys' for your Pathfinder or 3.5 Campaigns. 3 New feats and a new player class, The Revenant. For awhile I wanted to personally play an undead race that did not have a crazy ECL or level adustment. I didn't want to strip and undead down to bare bones (hehe) to play it. Instead I took the Eberron Warforged race and modified it to suit the role of an undead hero. If all goes as planned the next article will include adventure hooks, racial feats, a new spelland some specialized equipment for Revenants.

Session 2:

The PC’s decided to deal with the threat of the Lady of Shadows, and after scouting around town they met two NPC’s who had runs in with her lately. Ex-thief Kyos had his hand severed for not consulting her before stealing from a store in town, and his eye stabbed out by the Lady of Shadow’s enforcers when he also refused to join her men. They then threatened the next time he did something like this again, they would take him before the Lady of Shadows and would learn ‘the true meaning of pain.’ Calla who is the owner of the general store Kyos from had also had trouble with her enforcers. Her right hand man Narrows had even visited her in person when the last attempt to collect her protection money was prevented by her store boy who is a competent enough fighter.

Session 1: The game kicks off with the southern wall of Loudwater being blown up, a stream of goblins rushing through the wreckage in search of ‘The Horn Totem’ which they have been told resides in Loudwater in a shop called ‘Garawan’s Curiosities.’

Using some tiles from ’Streets of Shadows’ and extending the battle field with the Paizo market place battle sheet; the PC’s were placed by myself according to a question I had asked them pre-game “Upon arriving in a new town, where would you visit first,” 2 of my 4 players said “The Pub.”

Loudwater is a pretty run down town the market place is largely empty and the once busy market stalls are now abandoned. So very few civilians are out on the streets, those that are the PC’s protect and send them to fetch the town
