Well, needless to say, I had fun this weekend. So, as I stated in my previous blog (if indeed these count as blogs), I'm gonna write about it.

First, I should mention that I had work the previous night, and that I had no time to get a nap in before the first prerelease. So, I ended up staying up for over 24 hours. The two "naps" I did have, I'm not sure I was ever asleep. But they were resting enough, whatever they were.

Anyways, the first prerelease event: Local store. I chose to go with the guild I picked for my Planeswalker Points thing, which is Golgari. And luckily, I ended up opening enough stuff to make a decent Golgari deck. Among other rares which weren't as useful (either because they weren't in Golgari colors or I never saw them during matches), I opened a [c]Lotleth Troll[/c] ...

So, minor intro here: I'm going to start trying to keep a somewhat steady blog, mostly to post deck ideas I have or card comboes I find interesting. I'd use the forums, but most of the people who frequent those are too competitive in nature and just don't understand why or how I find the certain interactions of the cards to be interesting. And usually try to rework the decklist to include every "meta staple" that's currently legal. While some of these decks may be good in a competitive setting, I create all my decks based around ideas that I find fun.

Of course, to really understand what I find fun, you have to know that I am a Timmy Johnny Vorthos. Which should tell you I like big creatures, comboes, and I admire cards for more than just their gameplay value (in this case, flavor; Vorthos...

 Well Xanesh finally got me to make an account on here. It's been fun getting back into Magic, Yugioh is still fun but I find Magic less stressful and more rewarding. So yeah hopefully we'll meet some nice people here, maybe get back into D&D full swing and do some across the internet compaigns with people, who knows. Sadly we couldn't go to FNM today but if we're still in the area next week we'll definately go. Plus back home theres a FNM shop not far from us. Hello to everyone on the Wizards community~

Hello there! Welcome (and thanks) for reading my first blog on here! The names Liam, im a law student from Australia (first year) and just recently discovered Magic: The Gathering. Ive done a fair bit of gaming over my few years, but have mostly been a tabletop gamer (Blood Bowl, Warhammer 20k, Warhammer Fantasy, Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game), with a few card games thrown in (Yu-Gi-Oh!, Duel Masters and Pokemon). However Magic is my first real 'go' at playing a card game 'seriously'.

So how am i going so far?

Well at the moment i just started playing as of yesterday :P

I had a practice game in my local store (Good Games Geelong) with a small 30 card deck (i won woo!). I took a shining to the Blue and White cards, as the guy that showed me how to play (Paul) sold them
