Out of all possible combos and synergies inherent to the game of Magic, my favorite of all time is Tax/Rack: [c]Land Tax[/c] + [c]Scroll Rack[/c].

Translated to Legacy, this engine can be built into one hell of a control deck. This deck has a name.

"Parfait."

With the best removal and silver-bullet enchantments in the game available to White, the layers of this deck, folded back repeatedly by the Rack, make this a parfait that is vey delicious.

Tax/Rack = "I do not like this hand; I shall have another."

An ideal opening play with this deck is a [c]Mox Diamond[/c], pitching a Plains, into [c]Land Tax[/c]. Using the Moxen, [c]Ghost Quarter[/c], [c]Zuran Orb[/c] and even the awesome removal of [c]Path to Exile[/c], the game plan is to ensure the activation of [c]Land Tax[/c].

I recently sold all my cards online that were for STD as I have not been playing much online lately.  I have mainly been playing STD in RL.  So, this past week I sold all my cards online to get a couple of cheap legacy decks.  I started off by making a dredge deck.  Then I made an affinity deck.  Inititially I was running an affinity deck without tezz, but after playing with the affinity deck for a week I chose to put Tezz into the deck.  His power is massive alone, and he can either win the game by himself, stop standoffs, or just finish off the last little bit of life your opponent has.  I miss not running galvanic blast, but I feel that this deck has a lot more mid game than my last deck and keeps my opponents from being able to just play freely.

Well, this week’s blog really snuck up on me. I was a little disheartened after the small number of views last week’s blog received, but I’m going to keep this up and hope that I get some weekly readers. That said let’s get on with the blog.

I play Legacy. I have never, and probably will never play Standard or Extended. The reason for this is a simple one. I love the flavor of magic, it is the main reason I play, and Standard and Extended are quite lacking in it. I have nothing against those who do play it, in fact I enjoy playing with them, though I will be glad to see the back of poison personally. I also understand the reason for the formats to exist. Allowing people with less money or less time collecting a fair

Hey there everyone! I hope you're all off to a stellar start to 2011!

I'm putting this blog out there to see if there's any Magic players in the Nashville, TN area looking for some duels. If you're interested in getting together for some Magic games, please message me and we can set up some duel times.

On a 'discovery' note: Looky what happened to be in my last booster pack:

Woot! Smile

I hope to hear from some of you in the area. We can make a night of it!

Later peeps.

Yay! I'm finally feeling better. Being ill is NOT a way to start the New Year. Frown

At last, my sealed box of MTG 2011 Core Set 36 booster packs came in. I discovered many great new cards that have rounded out my Manas' Libraries. I feel some great contructs coming. Tomorrow night is my local Friday Night Magic and I think I'll be nicely prepared.

Here are a few of the goodies:

(these are all in the top 10 'wanted' cards...woot! Tongue out)

My first two contructed Libraries are holding up extremely well. The only match I've lost with my Swamp / Plains Library was during a 'Free for all' when the other three opponents aligned against me. At least I decimated two of the three before the last was able to destroy me. My Mountain / Forest Library is very good also
