Inscript, inscript is the word I am using (for now) for a game mechanic I've been experimenting with. The mechanic is only particularly useful, and fun, in the casual game environment. Apart from it's rather, unbalancing effects, I have found to be fairly fun to play with and against.

What is it?

Inscript is where you play instants and sorcerys onto the battlefield, to be used at a later time.

Now I know this sounds like a bad idea, in fact it almost completely defeats the point of having instants and sorcerys separate from enchantments, doesn't it? Yes it does in part. An major difference between an inscripted spell, and an enchantment, is the fact that when you cast an inscripted spell it is put into your graveyard. An inscripted sorcery can only be played during your main phases...

Hi my name is Ace.

I recently joined this forum, mainly because I had a very special idea.

What do you think an Magic the Gathering MMO would sound?

I mean the Multiverse has so much potential for an MMO.

- It has hours worth reading of lore.
- A whole universe with different planes.
- Different Classes, races, countries, factions etc.
- A rarity system, which could be used on monsters and items.

Just to mention a few.

I would imagine the game would be like, you could play as 5 different factions, one for each colour of mana, and that faction would be, if we look at the Mirrodin Saga ie., Elves for green, Goblins for red, Vedalkens for blue, Leonin for white, Nim for black. Then you could pick a class like, soldier, warrior, archer, wizard, druid, shaman etc. Already here I think we have a good ...

Not this title...title would have to be a work in progress for this card. Although I do love the name, it is a bastardised Shakespeare quote (A pox on both your houses...which is also nice). I reckon the title woud go well in Planechase actually. But the card

Enchantment: Aura Curse   (would like it to be an artifact, but they don't really have static effects, they are more like tools - I don't really know what colour to make this as all colours have tokens...but probably black....colourless aura curse??)

Effect: Permanents and spells which would produce tokens, produce 0 tokens instead.

(I guess the rules text could be tinkered to fit the nuances of the rules)

Now that would be cool!!...

Horseshoe Charm :1m::rm:
Enchantment

Spirit creature cards can't attack or block

______

This may be a little cheap for such a card. And perhaps it should be an artifact. But

> Fits in well with the Tribal landscape of MTG
> This could spawn a set of 5...cards that could all have themed names...and then the colour wheel could really bring the thing out.

Cloves of Garlic : :1m: :wm:..........(to hit vampires)

Deathly Harbinger : :1m: :bm:...........(to hit humans)

Silver Bullet
: :    1m: :um:............(to hit werewolves...!!!) Altho mtg doesn't like guns.

Forest Shrine : :1m: :gm:..............(to hit/repel.....zombies!)

Craterize - :1m::bm::bm:
Enchantment

Enchanted creature has -0/-1 and gains fear (It can't be blocked except by artifact creatures and/or black creatures).
When enchanted creature becomes blocked, put a -0/-1 counter on all creatures blocking it.

"The surface of the skin is like a landscape. Shocking how a few scars can make a wasteland"

(Art: Pic of a deformed human scaring away a crowd)

Just posted this to a contest in YMTC. I like it as it's an alternative to red land destruction for this card name. And it puts the cat among the pidgeons for human decks in a nice way...all those + counters. try some - ones :)

IDEA:

White card called Light The Beacons
I see this as one of two things:

An instant that could allow your creatures to untap before an opponents attack. This would be fairly cheap, maybe with Flashback

An enchantment hat has "You may block each of an opponents attacking creatures with up to two creatures that you control"

WHY?:
> I love the name, it is evocative...! Sounds really human, too. And modern...

> With the untapping, the idea would play as an instant because to give everything this as a perm would be potentially too good. I know there are some creatures that, if untapped, will allow all your creatures to spring back though...
> With the blocking, this is a strange and interesting ability.

IDEA:
Synergy
Blue mana, probably a high cost card

Instant
“Target creature gains soulbond until the end of the turn.
Whilst it is paired with target creature, both creatures have all abilities that each one of them has. This effect remains after the end of the turn. Any spell that targets one creature now targets both’”

WHY?:
> Would extend the recently introduced mechanic of soulbond

> Would be a ‘powercard’. Could even be tweeked slightly to be weaker. As suggested though, it would allow unblockable, shroud, lifelink, double strike etc…not to mention ‘tap to kill’, ‘tap for mana’ abilities etc, to be transferred.
> Imagine it used on a conventional soulbond card…Wolfir Silverheart would share its +4/+4…the creatures

Goblin Storehouse
3 colourless
Artifact

Depletion 5 (Whenever this cars ability is used, add a depletion counter to it. When this card has 5 depletion counters or more, sacrifice it at the end of turn)

1+tap: Up to two target goblins get +2/+0 until end of turn

"Now Gred, jus' get us  some more of that wine..."

WHY?:

> Introduces a new mechanic, 'depletion'.
> Adds to the 'goblin saga'. Ability seems fitting to them as well
>Logical appeal with the idea of a depleting storehouse and stupid goblins
> Works well as an artifact and no red mana - gives it a better chance to function in a duel colour goblin deck, should one be conceived of... ...

IDEA:

A blue Aura – Curse

Title ‘Accumulating Pests’

Maybe a cost of 2colourless 2blue

Cursed opponent must discard/exile an artifact each upkeep.

Perhaps add an ‘unless they pay x’

Artwork of little creatures in a museum or some such

WHY?:

> Aura curses are nice and more should be made

> Blue has an interesting relationship with artifacts

> It’s a slow card, works over time

> The title fits into a gap between Fog of gnats and ‘infestation’ cards

IDEA:

A blue sorcery/instant called ‘Racing Torrent’

Mid range mana cost (similar to 'Wash Out')

Sends non-flying creatures an opponent controls back to their hand. Or everybody’s non-fliers…

WHY?:

> There have been several cards called ‘torrent’, all of them red. This is a chance to re-invent

> A torrent is usually of water, hence the logic

> Blue often has bounceback/return to hand. But this is a chance to exclude fliers (helps white angels and other blue decks…)

> It sounds quite poetic

> It is a way for blue to cope with human decks in the early game
