Hi, ive played Magic for 5 years. Ive had a blue/red control deck for 5 years. I got an Izzet deck and spent 4 years making it beast and now its pretty good, ive been in one tournament with it and won enough matches to earn a prize. The tournament however was 3 years ago so it wasnt as good as it is now. What im here to do today is teach you how to use 3 (or 2) cards to replicate creatures. Replicate is an ability that lets you pay the cards mana cost again and again to make copies of the spell and choose new targets. Now, as far as ive seen only instants and sorcery spells have this ability but ive discovered a way to replicate a creauture. Everybody knows the most commom combos with izzet cards such as Izzet Chronarch and Peel from Reality that lets you keep one creature off the battlefield

I told you I would have it. Joel email the decklist to me. after a few minutes of review I was sure he must have been playing draft and we just did not see it. Hello Everyone!

Jaimie’s prerelease is in the books and who came out on top?  Joel Roane was our winner. This win keeps Joel in a strong lock for 3rd in local DCI rankings. While I did not get a card for card decklist, I did get to lose to the deck. This was a very one sided event. Quick blue fliers backed by equipment from both Zendikar and Worldwake made for quick and deadly wins.

Here is the top ten run down from the event.

  1. Joel Roane
  2. Alan Beaty
  3. Chris “Tuna” Gonzales
  4. Ryan “Wank” Nolan
  5. Dylan Smith
  6. Douglass Parker (yay!)
  7. Devin Tant
  8. Lane Davis
  9. Jeremy Harrington
  10. Ben Buckner

I always enjoy a prerelease at Jaimie’s. I enjoy seeing old and new faces. The setting is always pleasant and Jaimie always has the greatest things to give out as door prizes. I was happy to see stormy and

------ ZEN ------

Pack 1 pick 1:

    Caravan Hurda

    Desecrated Earth

    Forest

    Turntimber Grove

    Kor Aeronaut

    Tuktuk Grunts

    Ior Ruin Expedition

    Narrow Escape

    Oran-Rief Survivalist

    Crypt Ripper

--> Trusty Machete

    Lavaball Trap

    Goblin Shortcutter

    Caller of Gales

    Feast of Blood

Fortunately, we start out with a pretty easy pick here. Trusty Machete is one the bets uncommon in the format, and there isn’t anything that is even close to it in the pack. Kor Aeronaut is definitely the next best card, so we are probably sending a white signal here. I doubt anything tables from this pack, so we won’t really worry about that. But Trusty Machete allows us to stay flexible, so off we go.

Pack 1 pick 2:

------ ZEN ------

Pack 1 pick 1:

    Makindi Shieldmate

    Goblin Bushwhacker

    Forest

    Goblin Shortcutter

    Soaring Seacliff

    Expedition Map

    Kazandu Refuge

    Ondu Cleric

--> Vampire Nighthawk

    Needlebite Trap

    Torch Slinger

    Spreading Seas

    Crypt Ripper

    Arid Mesa

    Lethargy Trap

Vampire Nighthawk is easily the pick here, but I have to remind myself to be open to switching out of black, simply because so many people are drafting black right now. It is just hard to get a decent black deck together. But, Vampire Nighthawk is a bomb, and it is definitely one of the best cards in the set. The other cards worth looking at are Goblin Short Cutter, Torch Slinger, Arid Mesa, and Crypt Ripper. In a pack as bad as this

So here is what I wrote right before Zendikar hit:

I think the fetches will stabilize fairly quickly in the $8-12 range with the UG fetch being much more popular than the others.  A couple of cards that I think will start slow and then pick up steam are Summoning Trap and Malakir Bloodwitch.  Both of those cards have buckets of potential and uses.

I feel pretty good about this call as obviously the fetches are right in that wheelhouse.  Bloodwitch and Trap never really got off the floor although both have seen some play.  I still love the witch, that card is bonkers.

Lotus Cobra is a trap I believe... and see this guy as an $8-9 rare which equates to a $14-16 mythic.

So far so good.  Cobra has even gone a little below where I thought it would end up.

Another faller for me are the
