I had a feeling it would happen eventually. The first signs were when the Wednesday night booster drafts wouldn't get enough people. Seems like Mirrodin Besieged was the last set that I drafted in real life at a local store. Then the FNM fallout began, with people being drawn to the shop with the better prize payout. I mean who can blame someone for wanting to win more for the same amount paid in? Not only did they pay out more packs to the top winners, but they also paid out prizes to like 10th place, with roll offs (dice rolls to determine which "not top 10" players) for other cool prize giveaways. So it's hard to argue with that, especially when a consistent 5th place gets you nothing where I play. But I was loyal, kept playing at the store I felt I...

If you've read my previous blog posts you already know that I love those undead creepies that love brains. My previous zombie deck was a work in progress that I knew would get better once Dark Ascension was released, but I didn't realize just how much better. [card]Gravecrawler[/card] looked like a serious problem for mages without graveyard hate in their sideboards, and [card]Geralf's Messenger[/card] is just plain obnoxious. I mean losing 2 life is tough, especially when it's going to probably happen twice for each copy, since undying is hard to play around. Then you figure into the deck the [card]Diregraf Captain[/card] and suddenly Zombies are a strong tribe, making people lose life when the enter and leave the battlefield, and attacking without fear. I'll admit...
