Check out a full list of the best possible EDH Generals at MTGJunkie.com. I would stick with 2 colors minimum for your EDH General. When you are limited to only 1 color for your deck it really limits what you can do as each color has its own focus. Anyways check out the website to get new ideas for a new EDH Deck.

So, I decided to build ten Commander decks. Just for fun. All using the Maze Runners as the commanders. But as everybody knows, the obvous inclusions in the Varolz deck would be [c]Death's Shadow[/c], [c]Phyrexian Dreadnought[/c], and other ridiculously large low-cost creatures...so to make it more challenging, I limited my cardpool to only nonland cards from the original Ravnica block and Return to Ravnica block. As such, all of these decklists are arbitrarily pieced together based on my own whims and what I considered to be flavorful inclusions for each guild. I should note that I broke my limitation for one deck, but I'll get to that when I get to it.

[sblock=Lavinia's Deck][deck]1 Aerial Maneuver
1 Aetherize
1 Aethermage's Touch
1 Archon of the Triumvirate
1 Ascended Lawmage
1 Azorius Arrester...

-Updated 05/15/2013-

When I've been playing other formats too much (is there such a thing?), I turn to Commander for a break from the ultra-competitive scene and routine grind that are the Standard Daily Events. I went with Dakkon Blackblade for this deck's general; not too flashy to be a removal magnet, but flavorful, powerful, and spanning colors that I'm used to. There is also a bit of a Human theme going on.

Filled with tons of draw, removal, and sweepers, Dakkon can come out at his own pace and get up to awesome sizes. Lots of pathways for evasion and some powerful enhancements combine with plenty of ways to get more land drops and make my general even bigger.

This is a powerful control deck without being too oppressive, and even has a few group-hug cards to keep the hate pointed in the...

I've been neglecting posting on here for a long time due to real life getting in the way, so I want to power through the entire M13 set ratings since i'm so far behind. I apologize in advance for the long post, but it will still be sorted by color, so worst case, you can just scroll down until you see the color that you are looking for in bold. Lets begin with the ratings for those of you not familiar with them yet:

1 - This card shouldn't see much, if any play in EDH. Either very limited uses to one or two specific generals, or just bad.
1.5
2 - This card might see a little play, and it's not totally unplayable, but by no means should it see tons of play.
2.5
3 - This card is solid. Will see a respectable amount of play from decks in it's colors, and isn't too limited in it's strategy. ...

I've been busy with life, and Football season, and other games as of late, so I haven't been around Magic much the past couple months, which is also why this post is a couple of weeks behind the announcement. I'll also catch up on the set reviews (and they'll probably be better, since the two sets i'm missing have been out for long enough to do some testing) in the near future.

As most of you have heard, or for those of you who were like me and haven't heard yet, [card]Primeval Titan[/card] has seen his last days in EDH for the foreseeable future. Rather than going into detail about my thoughts on the reasons behind the bannings, I'll quote Sheldon (of the EDH Rules Committee), and his post on the reasons, I'll also include a link to his post on the forums announcing the changes at...

-UPDATED 10/15/2012-

So thanks to a friend Online, I've been introduced for the first time to Elder Dragon Highlander. Commaner is so much fun, and a refreshing change of pace to the anxiety-inducing atmosphere found in Standard. Don't get me wrong, I love the challange Standard brings, but the casual pace and conversation involved with EDH is just what I need to calm myself. The one-of's for everything allow me to use powerful Legacy cards without breaking the bank.

My adventure in EDH began with Adun Oakenshield, and quickly morphed into Sek'Kuar. I have now decided to promote Kresh the Bloodbraided to the rank of General. Jund is a fun color set to play with and allows me to play the style that I am accustomed to with sacrifice, burn, and big ol' fatties. It is a well rounded set-up with...
