I have a confession to make.

I am not good at balancing power. I'm too much of a Spike.

So, rather than choose sub-optimal cards to keep my deck from rolling over my friends, I dispersed the consistency of the high-end buy using 1 or 2 copies of the more powerful cards, while keeping the core Weenies as 4-ofs. Also, I cut [c]Aether Vial[/c] and [c]Mother of Runes[/c] for the time being to slow the deck down a little and to keep it from being too resilient.

This is a casual White Weenies build that is fun and varied, while at the same time swift and powerful. Effectiveness has been maintained, and it is affordable to boot! Here is my budget- and casual-friendly take on White Weenies:

Inscript, inscript is the word I am using (for now) for a game mechanic I've been experimenting with. The mechanic is only particularly useful, and fun, in the casual game environment. Apart from it's rather, unbalancing effects, I have found to be fairly fun to play with and against.

What is it?

Inscript is where you play instants and sorcerys onto the battlefield, to be used at a later time.

Now I know this sounds like a bad idea, in fact it almost completely defeats the point of having instants and sorcerys separate from enchantments, doesn't it? Yes it does in part. An major difference between an inscripted spell, and an enchantment, is the fact that when you cast an inscripted spell it is put into your graveyard. An inscripted sorcery can only be played during your main phases...

So yeah, turns out weekly blogs were kind of boring to me. I'm still going to try to do these on a somewhat regular basis, but weekly just doesn't allow me time to come up with an idea for new decks or notice new interactions.

Anyway, new deck idea (only in concept stage) so we're going to have another process blog. The basic premise behind this deck is to utilize detain and token manipulation ([c]Cackling Counterpart[/c], [c]Parallel Lives[/c]) to lock your opponent out of doing anything other than casting spells. And I feel that [c]Archon of the Triumvirate[/c] is the best detain candidate, since it detains 2 permanents per attack. The only problem is its high mana cost, and then you have to wait a turn to attack. Or do you? I've already titled this "4-color" because I intend to include...

The organizer for my Magic Meetup group left. I created The League of Planeswalkers here in hopes that it will help facilitate group gatherings after we lose our Meetup website. If you are from the existing group please join and use this group to keep in touch with me and other members. If you are not from the existing group you are welcome to join this new group and hang out with us for some casual gaming fun.

Hello,

My name is Jon. About one year ago, I was sitting in a group with two close friends of mine, and we were talking about our dissatisfaction with how some video games really restricted our freedom. We were really into the show "Community", and saw an entire episode dedicated to D&D. From there, we were hooked.

I went to my local bookstore and bought the Dungeons and Dragons Starter Set. Since none of us had played before, we stumbled. Then we died. But from those moments of failure, we started something amazing among our group of friends.

By the end of the first month, I found myself DMing for 8 people on a weekly basis. I made three wonderful new friends who I would never have met had it not been for these sessions. This game became the ultimate release for my creativity, and I...

Greetings.

Last Thursday the victory pass party and I got together to give the latest installment of D&D encounters: Beyond the Crystal Cave a try. The DM was Vlad. He has a tendency to leave the party (or at least me) almost always naked. Since the monk wasn't an option I opted for the barbarian (berserker). It is a tanky fighter with some damage dealing options and a Rage I can roleplay. Again, sorry: no pics. But I can show you my char afterwards. The only problem is that it doesn't really have anything special about him. (no, not even the name). Anon went with the Ranger and Erick chose the Cleric. Thirteen brought his own character: a Druid (protector). His companion is a baby owlbear.

For my part, I'm glad that we had a chance to roleplay. In fact, I think most of our time was spent

The other day I looked at my angry hermit deck and I felt a bit sorry for it. It was still using [card]Exhume[/card]  and [card]Reanimate[/card]  to get the ole [card]Sutured Ghoul[/card]  into play. I had [card]Krosan Cloudscraper[/card]s to beef up the Ghoul and a whole bunch of distruption.

I have a dreadge deck and knew how to update it, so here it is:

Lands (anything non-basic is fine, more multi-coloured the better. Green black mana is focus though).

4 [card]Llanowar Wastes[/card]
4 [card]City of Brass[/card]
4 [card]Gemstone Mine[/card]
4 [c]Tarnished Citadel[/c]
2 [card]Vivid Grove[/card]

Combo (well the combo is not having basic lands but nvm...)

4 [card]Hermit Druid[/card] - gets deck into yard
2 [card]Sutured Ghoul[/card] - win con
