IDW will be publishing Magic: the Gathering comic books later this fall, and the "exclusive, playable alternate-art Magic: The Gatheringcard" printed by Wizards of the Coast will be Treasure Hunt.
Treasure Hunt - 1U Sorcery (Promo) Reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a nonland card, then put all cards revealed this way into your hand. "Some call me a thief. I prefer to think of myself as a discreet borrower." -Dack Fayden, Planeswalker
Originally printed in Zendikar, Treasure Hunt makes an appropriate promotional card for the new IDW Magic: the Gathering comics (written by Matt Forbeck), which follows the story of a brand new planeswalker Dack Fayden who is:
"In search of greater magical knowledge and on the hunt for the people who destroyed his town, Dack Fayden is the greatest thief in the Multiverse. When he gets his hands on his latest prize, though, he has no idea where it will lead him—or to who!"
The new Magic: the Gathering comic will have two variant covers: one rare cover by Eric Deschamps, and another super-rare cover by Christopher Moeller.

'Innistrad'
Highly Anticipated New 'Magic' Set
Published: 09/09/2011 02:51am
Wizards of the Coast is launching its newest Magic: The Gathering set, Innistrad, with the usual pre-release events and launch parties – but the new set is anything but usual.
For the first time ever, Innistrad brings double-faced cards to Magic. As the name suggests, a double-faced card has two faces. It has no regular Magic card back. Its front face is marked with a sun symbol and a casting cost, while its back face is marked with a moon symbol. The two faces of a double-faced card are often the same color, but not always. Each double-faced card has at least one ability that causes it to transform. Then the card is flipped. The transformed side of the double-sided card often has a darker more powerful malevolent creature or character. But it also has the ability to transform back.
Using double-faced cards presented a problem for designers since the cards have no card back and can be easily identified in one’s deck. So, two options are available to solve this issue. Either opaque card sleeves will have to be used, as many players already do, and the card taken out of the sleeve when transformed. Or every double-sided card in a player’s deck can be substituted with new “checklist cards” (also included in boosters). A player simply set makes a mark on each checklist card next to the name of the double-faced card it represents.
The set features a deep back-story of new characters, monsters and regions from a dangerous plane named Innistrad. Innistrad is “a plane of menace and dread where every creature hides a darker aspect.” Vampires and werewolves, spirits and ghouls inhabit the plane.
The new set offers new and revamped mechanics such as Morbid, an ability word that checks whether a creature died during a turn to activate abilities; and Flashback, which gives cards the ability to be cast from one’s graveyard. But the real innovation in this new set combines a new mechanic with a highly anticipated new card type.
Prerelease events for Innistrad are being held on September 24th and 25th at participating stores where players can experience the new set a week before it goes on sale. Participants will receive an exclusive Mayor of Avabruck/Howlpack Alpha promo card as well as one “Achievement” card (while supplies last). The Achievement card is a fun activity for players to complete over the course of the Prerelease event. Collector's Corner Inc will be hosting their Pre-Release Friday at Midnight, September 23rd and a second sealed deck event Sunday at Noon, September 25th. We will also be hosting booster drafts Saturday, September 24th starting at Noon.
The launch date for Innistrad is September 30, 2011 with Launch Parties occurring September 30 through October 3, 2011, with Collector's Corner Inc having theirs at MIDNIGHT, Friday Night, September 30th AND Sunday Afternoon at 12:00 Noon, October 3rd.
Innistrad features 264 black-bordered cards, including randomly inserted premium versions of all cards in the set. It is available in booster packs, intro packs, and fat packs.

Hello everyone! We have just recently (June 17th) restructured how our prize support at Collector's Corner Inc works for FNM's! Previously we took all of the $5.00 entry fee and gave it back as store credit to the top players for that event. Starting Friday June 17th we are now going to be taking $4.00, giving it back as store credit to the top players and using the other $1.00 to add to our monthly prize. For every FNM that you play in, you'll get one entry into our monthly prize. So on a regular month of four Fridays that means if you play every event, you'll get 8 entries. For the month of June (because we started this in the last two weeks) the prize will be awarded on July 1st and will be a half box (18 packs) of New Phyrexia! For July, the monthly prize will be awarded on August 5th and be A FULL BOOSTER BOX (36 packs) of CORE 2012!
We wanted to offer something to players that are more casual, and perhaps do not get in the top players regularly. This way, you now can lose every single game you play at FNM and still walk away with a HUGE prize!
Don't forget that there are new banned/restricted lists out there too! Stone Forge is STILL legal in Type II IF (and ONLY IF) you play the New Phyrexia Event Deck War of Attrition UNALTERED! If you change even one card, then Stone Forge is no longer legal.
Also, keep an eye out for a new Eternal Constructed Tournament Format! We'll be hosting them here at Collector's Corner Inc!
