Copied abilities of creatures that reference themselves

So I'm in the middle of building an EDH deck around Experiment Kraj, and I'm suddenly very interested in how copied abilities of creatures whose abilities include (creature's name) in the ability will behave.

For example, if I have a +1/+1 counter on a Viridian Joiner, will Kraj tap for its own power in green mana, or the Joiner's?

I think I've read somewhere in the rules that copied abilities including a card's name treats each instance of the name as (this), so any abilities Kraj mimics would reference its own attributes, but I'm not 100% on that, so I thought I'd ask.
A card that refers to itself by name really means only itself. That also goes for cards that are copies of another or have somehow gained other card's abilities. So if the Kraj makes mana, it will be an amount equal to the Kraj's power.
