Index: 3.5 Psionics Outside the XPH

Last post
The following is going to be an Index of all 3.5 WotC psionic content I can compile. It should serve both as a reference for psionics fans wondering what books they can find psionics in, reference list of powers outside the XPH for those wondering which ones to select, and a link to point to when discussing just how much support content psionics gets.

This list is sorted by content type, Tempest's post below has the list sorted by source. Any help compiling this list is appreciated :D

Psionic Base Classes
Psionic Races
Psionic Prestige Classes
Psionic Feats
Psionic Powers
Psionic Items
Psionic Monsters
Other Psionic Material

3.5 Compiled Powers lists to help those in need of a complete list to choose their powers from. (This is currently in need of an update)

I'd also like to say a big thank you to all the contributors who've helped the index be what it is now, I certainly couldn't have done it without you.
Yet another bravo from the crowd!

By popular request, and many thanks to DisposableHero for doing this for me while I was indisposed due to finals season, here's the list above, sorted by source. This should help you deciding what to buy.

RadicalTaoist: I've been throwing **** at this group that's 5 levels over CRed in DFN, and have yet to wipe the party.

Out of curiosity, who would be interested in looking up all the stuff that ought to be 3.5 Psionic and making it so? There's a lot in the MM3 (the Witchknife, the Voidmind template, those Mindshredder monsters perhaps?) that could use that treatment. After I'm done with the Society Mind...

So, basically, finding any Psionics (Sp) things and fixing them up?

I'm game. May have to wait a bit, though -- not only due to the Society Mind, but due to classwork. I suck at rote memorization, and I'm taking Latin. This is NOT a good situation to be in if the GPA matters at all.

Cancer prognosis: I am now cancer-free.

There's a lot in the MM3 (the Witchknife, the Voidmind template, those Mindshredder monsters perhaps?) that could use that treatment.

Don't forget about Libris Mortis and the Brain in a Jar.

I mean, come on . . . it's a damned brain!
Survey says...Sticky!
I'll try to post the item and Monster sections either tonight or tomorrow (things looking a little busy tonight).

And RT, I'm in for any Psionics (Sp) removal project gets started :D
There's also the Erudite base class from the Dark Sun edition of Dragon (I forget the Issue number at the moment).

Erudite has been added.
So, basically, finding any Psionics (Sp) things and fixing them up?

And RT, I'm in for any Psionics (Sp) removal project gets started :D

You mean like these? I posted these at the Third Eye, but since it's currently off-line I'll post them here too verbatim.

The following are psionic spell-like abilities from monsters in various sources that warrant conversion into psionic powers, if an equivalent power does not exist already. I'll be listing other monsters (like the braxat, couatl, and mind flayer) along the way, suggestions for other monsters are welcome

Aboleth: hypnotic pattern, illusory wall, mirage arcana, persistent image, programmed image, project image, veil.

Most of these powers involve manipulating light to alter appearances, so they seem appropriate for the psychic rogue.

This power functions like holographic terrain, except that it enables you to make any area appear to be something other than it is. The image includes audible, visual, tactile, and olfactory elements. Unlike holographic terrain, the power can alter the appearance of structures (or add them where none are present). Still, it can’t disguise, conceal, or add creatures (though creatures within the area might hide themselves within the image just as they can hide themselves within a real location).

Persistent Hologram
Stats
Psychokinesis [Light, Sonic]
Level: Psion/wilder 5, psychic rogue 5
Display: Auditory, olfactory, visual; see text
Duration: 1 min./level (D)
This power functions like hologram, except that the image includes visual, auditory, olfactory, and thermal components, and the image follows a script determined by you. The image follows that script without your having to concentrate on it. The image can include intelligible speech if you wish.
XP Cost: 15 XP.

Programmed Hologram
Stats
Psychokinesis [Light, Sonic]
Level: Psion/wilder 6, psychic rogue 6
Display: Auditory, olfactory, visual; see text
Effect: Image that cannot extend beyond a 20-ft. cube + one 10-ft. cube/level (S)
Duration: Permanent until triggered, then 1 round/level
This power functions like hologram, except that this power’s image activates when a specific condition occurs. The image includes visual, auditory, olfactory, and thermal elements, including intelligible speech.
You set the triggering condition (which may be a special word) when manifesting the power. The event that triggers the image can be as general or as specific and detailed as desired but must be based on an audible, tactile, olfactory, or visual trigger. The trigger cannot be based on some quality not normally obvious to the senses, such as alignment. (See magic mouth for more details about such triggers.)
XP Cost: 25 XP.

Project Hologram
Stats
Metacreativity [Light, Sonic]
Level: Psion/wilder 7
Display: Auditory, olfactory, visual; see text
Manifesting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Effect: One dreamlike duplicate
Duration: 1 round/level (D)
Saving Throw: Will disbelief (if interacted with)
Power Resistance: No
Power Points: 13
As project image, except as noted here. You tap ectoplasm from the Astral Plane to create a quasi-real, holographic version of yourself. If you desire, any power you cast whose range is touch or greater can originate from the projected hologram instead of from you. The projected hologram can’t manifest any powers on itself except for psychokinesis spells with the [Light] descriptor. The powers affect other targets normally, despite originating from the projected hologram.
Objects are affected by the projected hologram as if they had succeeded on their Will save.
You must maintain a line of effect to the projected hologram at all times. If your line of effect is obstructed, the power ends. If you use psionic dimension door, psionic teleport, psionic plane shift, or a similar power that breaks your line of effect, even momentarily, the power ends.
XP Cost: 35 XP.

Veil, Psionic
Stats
Psychokinesis [Light, Sonic]
Level: Psion/wilder 6, psychic rogue 6
Display: Auditory, olfactory, visual (see text)
Manifesting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Long (400 ft. + 40 ft./level)
Targets: One or more creatures, no two of which can be more than 30 ft. apart
Duration: Concentration + 1 hour/level (D)
Saving Throw: Will negates; see text
Power Resistance: Yes; see text
Power Points: 11
As veil, except as noted here.
Not exactly what I had in mind - that's a little too Psionic X. More like conversions where they had in the XPH - using powers already created.

Does the feat Flowing Blade from Blades of the Quori count? It's a general feat, rather than a psionic feat, but it can only be taken by soulknife/monk multiclassers.
Flowing Blade [General]

Your mind blade is an extension of your body and soul, and you wield it with the same grace as your foot or fist.

Prerequisite: Ability to generate a mind blade, Weapon Focus (mind blade), flurry of blows class feature.

Benefit: You can treat your mind blade as a special monk weapon so that you can perform a flurry of blows with it.

Special: A kalashtar or Inspired monk can select this as a bonus feat at 2nd or 6th level, in addition to the normal options available at those levels. They must still meet all prerequisites for the feat.

The Expanded Psionics Group You don't have to be psychic to join, but it helps!
Perhaps we should compile user classes, feats, etc. as well? It seems appropriate.
Here are mine.

To qualify to become a Shadowblade, a character must fulfill all the following criteria.
Base Attack: + 3
Skills: Move Silently 8 ranks, Hide 8 ranks.
Feats: Combat Reflexes, Dodge, Mobility.
Special: Ghost step class feature
Class Skills
The Shadowblade’s class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Autohypnosis (Wis), Balance (Dex), Concentration (Con), Disguise (Cha), Escape Artist (Dex), Hide (Dex), Jump (Str), Knowledge (psionics), Listen (Wis), Move Silently (Dex), Perform (Cha), Profession (Wis), Psicraft (Int), Search (Int), Sleight of Hand (Dex), Spot (Wis), Tumble (Dex), and Use Rope (Dex).
Skill Points at Each Level: 6 + Int modifier.

Shadowblade

Class Features
All of the following are features of the Shadowblade prestige class.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Shadowblades are proficient with the club, crossbow (hand, light, or heavy), dagger (any type), dart, mace, morningstar, quarterstaff, rapier, sap, shortbow (normal and composite), and short sword. Shadowblades are proficient with no armor, or with shields.
Power Points/Day: A Shadowblade can manifest powers. His ability to manifest powers is limited by the power points he has available. His base daily allotment of power points is given on Table: The Shadowblade. In addition, he receives bonus power points per day if he has a high Wisdom score (see Table: Ability Modifiers and Bonus Power Points). His race may also provide bonus power points per day, as may certain feats and items. If a Shadowblade has power points from a different class, those points are pooled together and usable to manifest powers from either class. Bonus power points from having a high ability score can be gained only for the character’s highest psionic class.
Powers Known: A Shadowblade chooses his powers from the psychic warrior power list. At 1st level, a Shadowblade knows one psychic warrior power of your choice. Each time he attains a new level, he learns one new power. A Shadowblade can manifest any power that has a power point cost equal to or lower than his manifester level. The total number of powers a Shadowblade can manifest per day is limited only by his daily power points.
A Shadowblade simply knows his powers; they are ingrained in his mind. He does not need to prepare them (in the way that some spellcasters pre pare their spells), though he must get a good night’s sleep each day to regain all his spent power points.
The Difficulty Class for saving throws against Shadowblade powers is 10 + the power’s level + the Shadowblade’s Wisdom modifier.
Maximum Power Level Known: A Shadowblade gains the ability to learn one 1st-level power when he takes his first level in the prestige class. As he attains each new odd-numbered level, a Shadowblade gains the ability to master more complex powers.
To learn or manifest a power, a Shadowblade must have a Wisdom score of at least 10 + the power’s level.

Shadow speed (Su): A Shadowblade’s class levels act as (and stack with) monk levels for the purpose of determining his unarmored speed. His class levels do not apply to any other monk abilities.
Ninja Training (Ex): Shadowblade class levels stack with ninja levels for the purpose of determining Ki Power, and AC bonus
.
Hide in Plain Sight (Su): A Shadowblade can use the Hide skill even while being observed. As long as she is within 10 feet of some sort of shadow, a Shadowblade can hide herself from view in the open without anything to actually hide behind. She cannot, however, hide in her own shadow.
Sudden Strike (Ex): If a shadowblade can catch an opponent when he is unable to defend himself effectively from her attack, she can strike a vital spot for extra damage. Whenever a shadowblade’s target is denied a Dex bonus to AC (whether the target actually has a Dex bonus or not), the shadowblade deals an extra 1d6 points of damage with her attack. This increases by 1d6 points for every four shadowblade levels thereafter. A shadowblade can’t use sudden strike when flanking an opponent unless that opponent is denied it’s Dex bonus to AC.
This damage also applies to ranged attacks against targets up to 30 feet away. Creatures with concealment, creatures without discernable anatomies, and creatures immune to extra damage from critical hits are all immune to sudden strikes. A Shadowblade can’t make a sudden strike while striking the limbs of a creature who’s vitals are out of reach.
A shadowblade can’t use sudden strikes to deliver nonleathal damage. Weapons capable of dealing only nonleathal damage don’t deal extra damage when used as part of a sudden strike.
The extra damage from the sudden strike ability stacks with the extra damage from sneak attack whenever both would apply to the same target.
Evasion (Ex): At 2nd level, a Shadowblade gains evasion. If exposed to any effect that normally allows her to attempt a Reflex saving throw for half damage, she takes no damage with a successful saving throw. The evasion ability can only be used if the Shadowblade is wearing light armor or no armor.
Blindsight (Su): At 2nd level, a Shadowblade gains blindsight. This is an entirely new sense that the Shadowblade gains. It enables the Shadowblade to perceive the energy (thermal, kinetic, electronic, mental, ect.) of a being or object. This ability is only active if the shadowblade is psionically focused. Blindsight never allows the Shadowblade to distinguish color or visual contrast. A Shadowblade cannot read with blindsight. Blindsight does not subject the Shadowblade to gaze attacks. Blinding attacks do not penalize Shadowblade using blindsight. Blindsight negates displacement, blur, invisibility, and concealment. This ability works out to 20 ft. or the range of the creature’s darkvision, whichever is greater.
Uncanny Dodge (Ex): Starting at 2nd level, a Shadowblade retains her Dexterity bonus to AC (if any) regardless of being caught flat-footed or struck by an invisible attacker. (She still loses any Dexterity bonus to AC if immobilized.)
If a character gains uncanny dodge from a second class, the character automatically gains improved uncanny dodge (see below).
Insightful Strike (Ex): When a Shadowblade reaches 3rd level, she becomes able to place her attacks where they deal greater damage. She applies her Wis bonus (if any) as a bonus on damage rolls (in addition to any Str bonus she may have) with any weapon. This damage only applies to damage dealt by sudden strike. Targets immune to sneak attacks or critical hits are immune to the shadowblade’s insightful strike. A shadowblade cannot use this ability when wearing armor or using a shield, or carrying a medium or heavy load.
Shadow Strike (Su): At 3th level and higher, the shadowblade can spend one daily use of her ki power to deal a shadow strike. This allows the shadowblade to drain the life force out of the target (in the form of levels) on a successful melee hit. A successful hit bestows one negative level on the target. The DC to remove it 24 hours later is 10+1/2 Shadowblade level+ Cha modifier. The shadowblade gains 5 temporary vitality points (or 1 temporary wound point) per negative level he bestows.
Activating this ability is a swift action that does not provoke an attack of opportunity. This affects all attacks for a number of rounds equal to the shadowblade's Wis modifier.
Acrobatics (Ex): Starting at 3rd level, and every 3 levels thereafter, a shadowblade gains a +2 bonus on Climb, Jump, and Tumble checks.
Shadow Jump (Su): At 4th level, a Shadowblade gains the ability to travel between shadows as if by means of a dimension door spell. The limitation is that the magical transport must begin and end in an area with at least some shadow. A Shadowblade can jump up to a total of 20 feet each day in this way; this may be a single jump of 20 feet or two jumps of 10 feet each. Every two levels higher than 4th, the distance a Shadowblade can jump each day doubles (40 feet at 6th, 80 feet at 8th, and 160 feet at 10th). This amount can be split among many jumps, but each one, no matter how small, counts as a 10-foot increment.
For every daily use of ki power the shadowblade expends, she can shadow jump an extra 10 ft.
Improved Uncanny Dodge (Ex): At 5th level, a Shadowblade can no longer be flanked. This defense denies rogues the ability to use flank attacks to sneak attack the Shadowblade. The exception to this defense is that a rogue at least four levels higher than the Shadowblade can flank her (and thus sneak attack her).
If a character gains uncanny dodge (see above) from a second class the character automatically gains improved uncanny dodge, and the levels from those classes stack to determine the minimum rogue level required to flank the character.
Improved Shadow Strike (Su): At 6th level and higher the Fade instead bestows 1d4 negative levels instead of 1. He can also make a ranged attack (Close: 6m + 2m/2 lvls) that deals 1 negative level.
Activating this ability is a swift action that does not provoke an attack of opportunity. This affects all attacks for a number of rounds equal to the shadowblade's Wis modifier.
Move Like the Wind (Ex): Starting at 7th level, a shadowblade can move stealthily even at a quick pace. He no longer takes a -5 penalty on Hide and Move Silently checks when moving at any speed up to his normal speed, and he only takes a -10 penalty (instead of a -20) on Hide and Move Silently checks when running. He takes the normal -20 penalty when attacking or charging.
Greater Shadow Strike: At 9th level the Fade henceforth can make a ranged attack (Close: 6m + 2m/2 lvls) that does his unarmed damage and deals 1d4 negative levels.
Activating this ability is a swift action that does not provoke an attack of opportunity. This affects all attacks for a number of rounds equal to the shadowblade's Wis modifier.
Improved Evasion (Ex): This ability, gained at 10th level, works like evasion (see above). A Shadowblade takes no damage at all on successful saving throws against attacks that allow a Reflex saving throw for half damage. What’s more, she takes only half damage even if she fails her saving throw.

You punish enemies when they miss
Prerequisites: Dex 13, Psionic Dodge, Greater Psionic Fist
Benefit: As long as you are psionically focused, you are granted an AOO against an opponent that missed a melee attack. This has no effect on ranged attacks, or the number of AOOs you can make in a turn.
thanks thorian and InkBlot, I've updated the first post with the following:

I got the Dragon 316 and 317 stuff from Knucklehead and I think that covers everything, I have Dragon 318 so I can cover the monsters there when I do the monster section
I am so psyched for this, i have not played in 4 years and now psionics is back and you guys are putting every piece i need right here. great. I remember a power from the orgininal Handbook, (the flimsy brown one that always lost the cover....) a power called ID Insinuation and one called haste. i looked at the SRD and either it was not there or i got too geeked out about it and missed it. could any one clue me in? If it does not exist i asked Disposable hero if he would translate them for me, should he not be able to or want could anyone else do it for me? i have the worst trouble translating fron 2nd Edition to what we have now.

DH - are you going to add Hyperconscious to the list?
Remember that even though Eberron itself doesn't have any psionics beyond the kalashtar race itself, there are some psionic things bout. Mainly:
- Quori and Inspired are psionic monsters.
- The various Imbedded Shard items.
- Riedran Crysteel is mostly for psionic creatures.

And stuff.

DH - are you going to add Hyperconscious to the list?

When I get the time, yes, I'm a little pressed for it currently :D thanks for the list
I've searched through just about every 3.5 Wizard book (besides the setting books like Faerun and Eberron) and this is the limit to psionic creatures I can find outside the XPH:

By some, I don't particularly care about WotC vs 3rd party material, I can move it into the 3rd party section if people want.
Was wondering, wouldn't Dragon magazine be considered 3rd party?

No, Dragon and Dungeon are 100% official D&D, and all content has to pass through approval from WotC. In fact, a lot of the content from these magazines ends up in WotC supplements.
Heyas, someone mentioned something over on the Prestige Class forums and I checked up on it and he's right.

The Mindbender in Complete Arcane gives rules for making it into a psionic class, as basically all you have to do is turn level in existing spellcasting class into psionic.

So add that on up

Looks like they are trying to introduce at least one psionic PrC into the majority of the books.
Added the suggested adaptations of Mindbender (Complete Arcane) and Daggerspell Mage (Complete Adventurer) to the list.
