One of the frequent problem I find when making characters is the need for most atributes to be high. If you can consentrate on one or two stats rather than all 6 then it makes life a lot easier.

There have been several posts in the past about individual statistics so I'm going to start with them and compile a list of statistics and powers that use an unusual stat for the bonus, either replacing the existing statistic or enhancing it.
This includes adding a statistic to AC, Damage, Hit, Saves, Spell DC and Bonus Spells.

The description under the bonus collumn is only intended to give an idea of what the ability does. Check the source text to get the full picture, especialy before turning up to a game with it!

Shiba Protector is from OA, and Zen Archery is a feat is S&F. It's probably in Complete Warrior as well.

BTW, you forgot weapon finesse, the Duelist ability to add Int to AC, Kung Fu Genius from Dragon that lets a monk use Int instead of Wis for their abilities, and the Dwarven sorcer substitution level (can't remember which level) that lets them add Con to their Cha for the purposes of determing bonus spells per day.

Incorporeal Subtype: An incorporeal creature has no physical body. It can be harmed only by other incorporeal creatures, magic weapons or creatures that strike as magic weapons, and spells, spell-like abilities, or supernatural abilities. It is immune to all nonmagical attack forms. Even when hit by spells or magic weapons, it has a 50% chance to ignore any damage from a corporeal source (except for positive energy, negative energy, force effects such as magic missile, or attacks made with ghost touch weapons). Although it is not a magical attack, holy water can affect incorporeal undead, but a hit with holy water has a 50% chance of not affecting an incorporeal creature.


An incorporeal creature has no natural armor bonus but has a deflection bonus equal to its Charisma bonus (always at least +1, even if the creature’s Charisma score does not normally provide a bonus).


An incorporeal creature can enter or pass through solid objects, but must remain adjacent to the object’s exterior, and so cannot pass entirely through an object whose space is larger than its own. It can sense the presence of creatures or objects within a square adjacent to its current location, but enemies have total concealment (50% miss chance) from an incorporeal creature that is inside an object. In order to see farther from the object it is in and attack normally, the incorporeal creature must emerge. An incorporeal creature inside an object has total cover, but when it attacks a creature outside the object it only has cover, so a creature outside with a readied action could strike at it as it attacks. An incorporeal creature cannot pass through a force effect.


An incorporeal creature’s attacks pass through (ignore) natural armor, armor, and shields, although deflection bonuses and force effects (such as mage armor) work normally against it. Incorporeal creatures pass through and operate in water as easily as they do in air. Incorporeal creatures cannot fall or take falling damage. Incorporeal creatures cannot make trip or grapple attacks, nor can they be tripped or grappled. In fact, they cannot take any physical action that would move or manipulate an opponent or its equipment, nor are they subject to such actions. Incorporeal creatures have no weight and do not set off traps that are triggered by weight.


An incorporeal creature moves silently and cannot be heard with Listen checks if it doesn’t wish to be. It has no Strength score, so its Dexterity modifier applies to both its melee attacks and its ranged attacks. Nonvisual senses, such as scent and blindsight, are either ineffective or only partly effective with regard to incorporeal creatures. Incorporeal creatures have an innate sense of direction and can move at full speed even when they cannot see.

Snowflake Wardance allows you to add cha to hit, with a one handed slashing weapon.
The Bladesinger (Complete Warrior) is another class that allows you to add Int to AC. One of the reasons it's so terrifying for a Swashbuckler/Wizard build.

Some undead in MM3 have Unholy Toughness, which grants Cha to hitpoints per HD.

Is that a feat that can be taken by an undead or a special ability? If its a feat im going to have to buy MM3. It makes some of the dragon undead templates soooo broken. For instance the gheden has no penaltie to charisma & makes you an undead for +1La. Buy that off & make a gheden sorcerer 20 with maxed out Cha (34) for a spellcaster with 375 average HP . Also great for paladins of tyranny, black guards, bards & gish characters.

As well as. It's a feat from Frostburn, but requires 6 in Perform(dance) and the bardic music ability. By using one daily use of bardic music you get Cha to attack with one-handed slashing weapons for a number of rounds equal to your ranks in Perform(dance).

Doesn't one of the illusionist variants (RoS or UA, not sure) get to use Int for Hide and Move Silently? I believe there is also a monk Prc in Frostburn that has an ability to use Wis for certain skills.
intuitive attack (or was it intuitive strike?) from the BoED grants wisdom instead of strength to hit. Great for those VoP monks.

Kensai from CW gets Withstand, which lets them use Concentration for their Reflex rolls. This, of course, lets them use Con for such saves.
The Witch Hunter (from OA) also adds charisma to saves.
A Mineral Warrior gets to add Con bonus to hit once per day.
The Saint Template from BoED adds WIS to AC.

Whats good is that many of them are unnamed bonuses so stack with everything.

I'd sugest a....
Gloura (7 HD, +2 ECL): Paladin 3 / Bard 3 / Arcane Duellist 2 / Iajutsu Master 5
Divine Might, Divine Shield, Snowflake Wardancer, Ruin Delver's Fortune

Get charisma bonus to:
Saves x2 (can be x3)
AC x3 (can be x4)
Damage x(1+Y), where Y is bonus damage from Iajutsu master
Hit x1
Initiative x1

And gets a natural +6 bonus to Charisma (as well as +10 dex ) from race.

I played a fun Nymph in a 26th level game once. She was a Ghost, Blackguard / Hexblade. Which was nice.

What's particularly good is getting many bonuses from Int/Wis/Cha, taking a spellcaster (I'd get Nar Demonbinder w. Arcane Disciple (Trickery)) so you can polymorph into something large (like a Mountain Troll).
When you're not polymorphed you have high bonuses to everything and when you are you get even bigger bonuses and have no weak stats.

It's only available to select undead from MM3. I'd have to make a completely different build for that, unless anyone knows a wat to get the extraordinary special qualities of an undead creature. I'll look into it myself soon.

You could cherry pick from some of the nicer class abilities that are cha based, while still going epic ready. And without needing feats to qualify.

For those who have read Libris Mortis, are there undead templates (possibily available to PCs too) that add HPs to Cha (like Unholy Toughness) or AC (like Grimweird's Unholy Grace)?

Very nice. Would a Half Illithid qualify because then you don't have to worry about the high Illithid ECL that would stop you getting some of the other nice Cha based features, while still getting those that are from a different alignment than yours.

This sounds like something that needs building.
My Gloura duellist was nice but I'm sure this could be much nastier (assuming that you use the half-illithid template).

In my opinion, a Half-Illithid should be able to go into Illithid Savant. They've got the tentacles, the brain sucking ability, a very limited mind blast, etc. I see no reason why not.
Sword of Graceful Strikes from arms and equipment is a +3 shortsword that when used allows ALL melee attacks to have dex to damage instead of strength.

I know dex to damage was often one of the holy grails of duelist/swashbuckler builds.

I'm not suprised no one's mentioned it so far, as it is in a pretty obscure place in the A&E guide.

Remember that the Illithid savant is supposed to be the ultimate pinnacle of illithid achievement (which is kinda sad). I don't think that some Half-illithid is really qualified.
