Has anyone found out yet if they are gobbing all the mainstay campaign worlds into one setting, as I ready a long while back looked like the case, or are they keeping them as separate worlds? For instance, I heard that originally they were going to have Greyhawk and Forgotten Realms be actually the same world but different regions of the same world. However, in some podcasts and since I have seen they are doing campaign settings books for these, it seems they might keep them as separate worlds.

Any idea?
No merging.
Forgotten Realms this year.
Eberron next year.
One campaign world per year but which ones/which order has not been announced.

I thought so. Thanks!
My understanding is that the "official" worlds will remain historically separate, but new supplements, new monsters will be created that are meant to be universally dropped into either/any setting. Some at WOTC believe that TSR shot itself in the foot by sub-dividing their products along all those different campaign-settings. So there will be different settings, but most material is useable in any D&D world.
To be technical, it was having all those (cool) settings SUPPORTED as much as possible simultanously, which have torn the base much. But yeah...
Do you think they will develop a "generic" setting using the names, etc. from the 4th edition books? I like that they're not doing so, but with the "one-a-year" settings, I wonder if they'll give in and design one to serve in that role.

If they do, I think they should do a search for pne, like they did to find Eberron. I would be interseting to see how many different ways folks coudl use the same material but and their own twists to make it different.
It possible in theory (albeit they said that it wouldn't be developed that much) that the PoL 'world' would be detailed one day.... AT the very least, a third party company.

It was announced by WotC that they were NOT going to create a specific PoL campaign.
I don't have a post... anyone?

Actually, I like the PoL "setting" and I plan to make it the default in my home games...at least until we come up with something better, or the proposed Spelljammer revival becomes a reality :D
