Master of the Feast

Enchantment Creature - Demon (R)

Flying

At the beginning of your upkeep, each opponent draws a card.

Any pleasure, when taken to excess, becomes torment.  It's a formula that demons have perfected.

5/5

Crap - yet another card for my Nekusar deck.  I don't see where else this will be played, though.

Notion Thief perhaps?

EDH decks I play:

Prossh: http://community.wizards.com/forum/commander-edh/threads/4101381

Derevi: http://community.wizards.com/forum/commander-edh/threads/4115936

Kaalia (the beats)

Zur (disgusting combo)

Damia (Bug Elf deck)

Numot (Stax)

Griselbrand (French)

Ghave (Uber combo)

Muzzio (Oops, Blightsteel)

I was thinking fate unraveler, perhaps mix it with phenax mill and some symetric card draw to attack on two fronts.

A 5/5 flyer for 3?  Holy crap, that's aggressive!  This will be an absolute beating in limited.  Unless they churn out constant flyers, this thing will just mow them down in no time flat!

Do you remember where we all came from?

Do you remember what it's all about?

Take Over the Skies, staring Talrand, Sky Summoner

Hydra Kids, Hydra Wife, staring Animar, Soul of Elements

While it is a powerful card, it is at the same time a little disapointing. Black already had a good agressive 3 mana fyling card.

Just got stomped by a nekusar deck a few minutes before seeing this. C'mon man.

CURRENT EDH DECKS: Sek'kuar | Kraj | Teysa | Wort | Purphoros | Varolz | Reaper King | Rakdos | Isperia | Ultimus | Iroas | Macar | Roon | Marath | Kruphix | Karametra | Marchesa

Oh yes, this is going in my Nekusar Edh deck.  Not sure about how big animpact this will make in Standard.  Notion Thief would help.

Isn't this insane in standard? 5/5 flyer with very little drawback (might turn an instant speed removal spell into a cantrip).

card advantage is no small thing. yes, he's beating down for 5 on turn 4 but your opponent gains card advantage on your turn which is a real bummer. I think he will see play once Desecration Demon rotates

Pretty mega-dangerous with the new Twinflame card....swing for ten on turn 4...

I like you.

And this thing is AMAZING.  Should displace Nightveil Specter in black devotion decks simply because it's so beefstick.  1 less devotion for a +3/+2  bigger body, pretty slick.

It's not even a 'may' draw.  They *must* draw.

My turbofog deck may mutate into turboflog.

I more look at a card'efficiency than card advantage. In terms of power/toughness for a mana cost, this is the Tarmogoyf of the three mana slot.  I don't think this card gives your opponent much card advantage. Mostly because this card shouldn't stick on the table for long periods of time. An opponent should be killing this either during their turn (aka no card advantage) or during your turn (slight card advantage for your opponent). If you don't have a good way to continually + reliably block the damage (which i don't see in standard) it will deal 5 damage a turn (this card attacks every turn).  A pretty easy five damage a turn is worth your opponent drawing a card. A deck built around this card will attempt to minimize the turns it is on the battlefield(similar to Abyssal Persecutor decks in the past). I view the drawback as minor since it goes against what your opponent wants to do (leave an evasive fatty on the table). It isn't as steep as a drawback as I would imagine for an above the curve evasive beater (see Shah of Naar Isle, Dormant Gomazoa, Eater of Days, Skaab Ruinator

Where things get messy is when the creature is neutralized but not removed.  Pacifism, Arrest, Claustrophobia, Detain abilities, tap effects...

That's what sac outlets are for. And hey, let's not forget about Sire of Insanity. The opponent draws extra cards, likely taking damage from Fate Unraveler, then has to toss their hand at the beginning of every turn. And if you play these creatures with Dictate of the Twin Gods, they each get to deal double damage, meaning the opponent takes at least 4 from the Unraveler at the beginning of your turns and the Master and Sire are capable of 10 and 12 damage respectively without double strike. Why not add in Rakdos, Lord of Riots and Mogis, God of Slaughter while you're at it?

Yep, those are the card's biggest weaknesses. Definitely can't have a 5/5 flyer for 3 without any weakness. I'm thinking that Thoughtseize, abrupt decay, devour flesh, etc should help protect against those weaknesses. It's a strong card with one weak attribute. I just feel like it's easier for the player to take advantage of its strength(and minimize its weakness) than it is  for the opponent to abuse its weakness. I could definitely be wrong though. This card oozes potential though and it's the type of design I like to discuss (strong effect with a downside) instead of cards with all upsides cards like stormbreath dragon that everyone can agree on as good.

That's disgusting.

From Mark Rosewater's Tumblr: the0uroboros asked: How in the same set can we have a hexproof, unsacrificable(not a word) creature AND a land that makes it uncounterable. How does this lead to interactive play? I believe I’m able to play my creature and you have to deal with it is much more interactive than you counter my creature.

MaRo: One of the classic R&D stories happened during a Scars of Mirrodin draft. Erik Lauer was sitting to my right (meaning that he passed to me in the first and third packs). At the end of the draft, Erik was upset because I was in his colors (black-green). He said, "Didn't you see the signals? I went into black-green in pack one." I replied, "Didn't you see my signals? I started drafting infect six drafts ago."

MaRo: I redesigned him while the effect was on the stack.

I really like it. Only complaint is that the Enchantment type feels a bit tacked on, but I guess that's something to just live with in this set.

Honestly. I can't imagine a worse drawback.

Uh...you lose the game?

Man, if you're worried about your opponent putting a Pacifism on one of your creatures, you need to play against better players.

opponent went first

turn 3, says go

your turn 3, you play this

opponent untaps, plays desecration demon during his 2nd main phase

That's not a drawback. It's just the game ending.  But "your opponent draws cards" is often a synonym of that.
