Please give us fillable PDF versions of the new character sheet

It would be extremely helpful if we could download a fillable PDF of the new character sheet that has been revealed. Thank you.

In another thread BoldItalic cleaned up the first page of the fighter sheet to be blank and then I turned that jpg into a pdf.  It is not fillable but it is a little something for now.

Would love an official one soon though.

Remember this is a public forum where people express their opinions assume there is a “In my humble opinion” in front of every post especially mine.

Things you should check out because they are cool, like bow-ties and fezzes.

https://app.roll20.net/home  Roll20 great free virtual table top so you can play with old friends who are far away.

http://donjon.bin.sh/  Donjon has random treasure, maps, pick pocket results, etc.. for every edition of D&D.

What does "fillable" mean?  Cause I can easily turn that into a from if you need.  If you need it to calculate your bonus based on what you enter, that will be harder for me to do. (I don't know how to do that at all in a pdf form)   If you want drop downs with race and class options, well, thats what Morningstar is for.

Just so that you can type in what you need. It doesn't need to calculate anything.

This should do it. It's not perfect but it's good in the meantime I guess.

Very nice thank you.  I need to learn how to do that.

I can find absolutely nothing to disagree with in this thread, and several things to be grateful for.

...I'm frightened...

Thank you for the character sheet.

Player Name, Race, and Alignment duplicate whatever information is put in one of them

Is there a printable version of the pre-gen?

nevermind:

Maybe better view - sheet1 and sheet2

thanks ----> ShadoWWW

Top notch!

I don't want to be greedy, but I don't have great eyesight.  Can you possibly start the fonts out bigger on the ability scores and AC, etc, and justify them center?

Thanks a bunch!

Thanks for the fillable PDF

I hope the full game, come November, can keep a simple top sheet like this. I prefer it that way, honestly. Any extra stuff, like spells, maneuvers, magic items, inventory, traits, etc. can go on a sheet of graph or loose leaf paper.

I don't want to be an edition warrior. I think there was something good and something bad in all the editions I played. I do, however, believe that the game has gotten better over the years (and decades). I hope this holds true into the future.

Peace.

I fixed this problem: DD5_blank_sheet_fillable_Rev_B.pdf.

I would like to get word from one of the WotC team, as to whether it is okay to provide this for general use...if it's a problem, I will remove the link. Thanks.

Oh yeah that's real good.

Thank you very much, love it.

There is one small issue, the dot indicator for saving throw and skill proficiencies can not be unselected, not the worst thing since you won't unlearn a proficiency but the same issue applies to the death saves which do need to be checked and unchecked often.

D'oh! Ofcourse I miss a few boxes. Word to the wise copy and pasteing form fields is not as effecient as you would think :-(

Thanks Laurence for fixing it.

Just wanted to step in and say that you guys are awesome, and that this kind of cooperative spirit is what I love seeing the community do. Thank you!

Oh, and good work on the sheet, too. Thank you guys for doing that, too.

I'm not real savvy with the uses of such things, but I noticed that when typing in the Personality Traits, Ideals, Flaws, and Bonds boxes, the font starts off huge and shrinks as you type. It remains one long line that gets ever smaller and I can find no way to change it. What am I doing wrong? lol

I have all the fields set to autosize the font so it does it that way. I'll see if I can make it more user friendly.

Thank you for taking the time to have a look at it, and for making it in the first place.

So here is what I've been able to do so far, it's going to take people using it to know what the correct font size should be.  I tried to make the font autosize but then it doesn't shrink small enough if you have lots of text.  Hopefully it's not too small for people.DD5_blank_sheet_fillable_v3.pdf

Outstanding work everybody!

Fillable I don't really care about. But one that you can fill AND it calculates everything for you, that... that I want.

You shall have your wish, It's called Codename:Morningstar and it's in pre-beta, for release later in the year.

But we all wanted something right now, before 5e is even released,

And thanks, guys, for picking up the ball and running with it. White pixels I can do, PDF forms are beyond me,

Just some thoughts:

I've archived this thread so we won't lose the information trail when this forum vanishes at the end of the month.

Mike Mearls on Twitter has confirmed that the sample Noble Fighter sheet we worked from was essentially the official sheet filled in, so it looks like we are good to go.

WotC retain copyright of the sheet (small print, bottom right) and our files are hosted on a WotC server, so "all our bases are belong to them" and that's as it should be. It's their artwork.

We couldn't make an auto-calculating sheet yet (even if we knew how to script one) because until 3 July we won't know how Proficiency Bonus rises with level. It's not the same as in the final playtest. We know that it starts a +2 at Level 1, rises to +3 at Level 5 and reaches +6 at Level 20, but we don't know the breakpoints in between.

We shouldn't expect WotC to give formal approval for what we have made, because of their working relationship with the people at Morningstar. So it's best not to ask. Then they don't have to say "no".

Thanks for your work.

Thought I would take my own crack at this. Tried to keep it hi-res.

Very nice, the only thing I would change myself is to darken some of the light text, like the coin types it is hard for me to see.

But then again, I need glasses and pushing 40 maybe it's just me.

I could use a heavier font than Lucida Sans Unicode.

All right let's try this one more time shall we.

@mikemearls @thatmaxsteele is that for basic D&D and advanced or just basic?

Awesome! Thank you.

Any idea why at the bottom of skills there's: * See your equipment? Might that need removing on a generic character record?

I'd leave it in. The example we've seen has heavy armour affecting Stealth but there might be other cases we haven't seen yet.

Okie-dokie, here's the form-fillable version. Let me know if it needs any adjustments.

Edit: This contains the revised version.

Awesome, thanks everybody. I've got six players for the Starter Set so as soon as Basic Hits I'm using this to make a sixth character!

Thank you very much, that was fast and a great job.

I tested pretty much every field, and found nothing that might need any adjustments.  Rock on.

Now what we need is a copy of the spellcaster sheet! But u guess if one is efficient that can all fit in the features and traits part. A great 1 page character sheet!
