Map Junkies: Links to Fan Maps

Map Junkies rejoice.
Instead of crying over spilt milk and hoping everyday to find a Map of Mystery posted, I thought Why not share Maps I have Discovered on other sites. These Maps are created by regular joe's for the love of the game.
Some are created with speficically created Map Utilities like Dundjinni and Campaign Cartographer Versions. While Others are created in Graphic Art Programs like Paint Shop Pro. Still others are composites of of various programs. Some are 100% originals while others are reVisions of Maps. Another words, remakes in various forms of a Map published somewhere like a Book or Adventure.

Please don't turn this into a discussion into which Utility is best to create a Map. Every program has its own qualities and drawbacks. Yes there are "free" utilites that can do the same quality of work as Expensive Pay Utilities.

I won't post pictures here just the Links to the Maps. That way there is no Worry about Copyright Issues.

Like Maps of Mystery, I feel that the choosen Maps should or could be easily adapted into any campaign setting or local. A Dm can grab these Maps and use them on a Whim or plan ahead and adapt them into a storyline

So to get started here is a Link to My first selection.

Yes it was.

However when I post the source I am refering to the location that the Map was posted to and Not the programs it was created with.

You might actually look on the Dundjinni Map forums and find the Map there also.

The Cartographer has contributed many Maps and Artwork to the Dundjinni community.

I think its about as good a place as any.
Maps of Mystery falls under the "DUNGEON" portion of DDI.
Instead of comming here and complaining over and over and over and over and over and over and over ( I bet , you get the idea) about how they are not providing "fluff", "Crunch", or what ever you want to call it. I thought maybe it would be more supportive of "Dungeon" DDI to provide material to tide us over until the "REAL DUNGEON DDI" is revealed.
Good point...

Great Maps...

Keep'em coming!

I'd say it's a great place for it. The first post was better IMO than the entierity of January Dungeon articles.
"Man is made God's plaything, and that is the best part of him. Therefore every man and woman should live life accordingly, and play the noblest games... Life must be lived as play, playing certain games, making sacrifices, singing and dancing..." Plato, The Laws.

And much of February's as well...
Another map you may enjoy.

It's a generic wilderness road map, but very well done.

This Map would make an excellent adventure hook, a map found rolled up in a dragon's hoarde. An excellent Player Handout

Anyone can join in the discussion. I am sure there are more wonderful Maps out there.

I should note that the map I posted above is NOT mine. It was done by Cisticola, from the Dundjinni forums. I set up an account on my Mad Mapper site for him and Supercaptain, and they have been posting tons of maps recently. I didn't think he would mind a bit of promotion...
Here is some maps I did for Alea Publishing Group - all are free to download.

Some are basic tiles maps where others are from their Feudal Lords setting, but could be used in any homebrew campaign. Most were done in Fireworks, Photoshop, and Corel.

Aren't you the one who keeps coming here and complaining over and over and over and over and over and over and over (I bet, you get the idea) about how they are not providing "fluff", "crunch", or what ever you want to call it.

However it seems you do know where to go to get your 'fix' for maps.

Evidently you don't really need Dungeon to supply you with a map 'fix'.

In my view it is a matter of performance.
Yes material can be found other places, but WotC should be a prime source. Users should not feel the need to provide content that WotC is not providing, they choose to provide content to fill the gaps. This can be viewed as trying to keep the community together or perhaps an insult to WotC. One user put together a PFD for WotC that they appear npt able to do. It is a fan based effort. Others have offered services for no fee to support 4th.
Plans are always subject to change.

Don't you mean "IMNSHO they post Worthless...."

Or is everything done by wotc supposed to go through JPS's approval process before being published?
If it has to go through you, then they best send it on over to me as well....:P

Not that you ask....Obviously I am the center of the Universe..otherwise you would have known not to ask when You already know the ANSWER

NO I AM NOT THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE

nor am I politically correct so its not IMNSHO. Its just an expressed opinion..yea I know its like an everyone has one and it stinks. Live with it. Move on. Obviously If I felt I could control everything in it, I would publish it. I have never said that everything in the books would be useable 100% by myself nor have I every said I expect 100% to be useable by anyone.

Years from now, I won't ever need to look back and say woo, I can use that article about remenicing about the Old days before 4E in my game now, Woho an article on Halfling so generic that a person using 75E would go..."Halflings, Never Heard of those, they sound Neat, can I play one? And I say " Let me read the article, I myself have never heard of them before?

Now An Article on A Halfling Community would be great. Provide a Map, Provide NPC Stats, Provide Rumors, Names, Legends, Lore.. Those could be used any game anytime.

Sorry forgot the smiley on my post. "fixt"

But since you flew off the shallow end.

For a member of multiple map-making websites you really need more maps?

IMAGE(http://www.nodiatis.com/pub/20.jpg)

I'm not a member of multiple map-making communities. I think this is a darned useful thing to post. Apparently, you don't. Our opinion on what is and is not useful apparently diverge somewhere.

Are you this critical of the Knowledge Arcana thing that other community members produce? Please don't see this as some sort of attack on you, I just think that there is quite the bit of hostility in your post.

What I see, regardless of intention, is that JPS provided something I think is useful.

Bringing this derailment back on track, while I do not have any maps to share, I think this is a great resource. Keep up the good work.

Also, what does IMNSHO mean? I don't make much use of them thar inter tubes.

Since you :P 'd I will call off the Goonsquad

Down Trolls, back under the Bridge. There will be a Next time, Now back into the darkness :D :D .

Everyone needs maps, shoot some of my towns have 6 or more inns and or Taverns. Not to mention Armorers, Alchemist, Bakers, Blacksmiths Candlemakers, General Stores, Expedition outfitters, Mage Guilds, Thieve's Guilds, and so forth.

I hate having the same Map over and over for the same Inn or Tavern, and I don't have for all day to make new maps for ever new location, Like the Article says I Steal usable maps alot.
My PCs don't always stay at Motel 6, where they leave a candle burning for ya.

By the way I don't take anything personal on these boards. I think everyone has a Right to Express a true feeling as long as its done without vulgar lanquage. Like I said I ain't politically correct and I don't expect anyone else to be either. I respect anyone who has a backbone and just spits it out.
Sometimes the Truth does hurt. I hate sugar coated crap:D
Ok, back on topic.

Here is another cool map, this time by my good friend Steve Gadreau (aka supercaptain).

This is a tremendously detailed water map, with stormy seas, a sunken ship, and of course, a whirlpool waiting to draw the foolish down under.

thankyou ;) ... the last one was the best.

There are some modern maps there too.
John Paul Stoddard, kudos for this thread, the links and congratulations for your work.
This is a useful thread; I created a map folio of sorts from all of my availible maps (D&D supplelments, Dungeon, Other sources) to use in campaigns on a whim; in case the characters go off in an opposite direction I'd intended.

The one I really have trouble finding good quality maps of is the keep. I'm not talking about the 8 floor castles, but really nice keeps that hold 30-40 or so. Know of any?
