Formulas - Magic Items

Does anyone know if there is a formula or an equation for figuring out the purchase price of a magic item? (the chart found on PHB pg 223)

I'm trying to come up with a "Net-Worth" on my players, and other than doing a look-up I can't figure out how they come up with the numbers.

Okay, I just answered my own question. It isn't a simple equation, it is a formula.

The first five levels of magic items are 200 + (Level * 160) gold. After that, it is 5 times the value of the item 5 levels lower. So a level 6 item is worth 5 times that of a level 1; a level 7 is 5 times that of a level 2;...; a level 18 item is worth 5 times that of a level 13, etc.

This can be written as a semi-complex formula in Excel (my original intent). For those others of you with similar obsessive compulsive disorders.

Value = (200+MOD(Level,5)*160)*5^INT(Level/5)

Where "Level" is the cell that contains the level of the item in question.
