Known Information: The Plane of Setoran is small spherical plane consisting mostly of grassland. It has no oceans or wide mountain ranges, only large lakes and the occasional lonely (but very high) mountain. One would assume that a plane so flat would be quickly dominated by anything with four hoofed legs and a decent intelligence. But if one were to assume that, one would be wrong. Despite being the dominant race on the ground, the centaurs of Setoran have one natural enemy. Dragons.
The entire culture of the centaurs is based on this threat from above. They only travel at night, running as fast as they can. They live mostly in forests, to conceal themselves. The villages they do have on the plains have large ballista’s.
Every fifteen years the centaurs come together to elect a new leader. Each tribe chooses one champion. This champion then leads an expedition with the purpose of slaying a dragon. The first one who comes back with the entire carcass of a dragon will be leader of the centaurs for the next fifteen years. His tribe gets to live in the cave city of Yogu, which is the only settlement on the plane that has never been attacked by dragon.
