This is a world I worked on at one point in the past, hit a wall, got some help, hit a wall. So on and so forth.
Heres the basic conept of the world: The world's timeline has been meddled with. the past present and future now happen at the same time, having created a strange new homeostasis for the world.
The main facet of the plae are the five evolutionary lines. The Iconics for the world are ancient almost feral beasts, with the humanoids actually being rather advanced.
Shpinx-Griffen-Aven: The Aven have tamed the griffens as hunting partners, serving under their now manifested ancestor gods the Sphinxes in marble palaces.
Krake-Anurid-Amphin: The most advanced set, with the even the anurid being fairly intelligent, and used as body guards and servants for the Amphin. The Amphin are always looking to harness the Kraken's to help expand their growing empire.
Hydra-Basilisk-Gorgon: Not sure of the interaction here.
Dragon-Drake-Vaishino: The Viashino and drakes have banded together to try and fight off the Dragon predators that assault their mountain factories and such.
Manticore-leotau-leonin: Not sure how to distinguish them here.
I want a better top to the amphin line, kraken is just the best I have atm. I want to add some time related problems to the world, to help show off that the world itself is still trying to adapt to it's situation.
Looking for help a suggestions!

A: Jedi's back! Woohoo!
B: I seem to remember talk about this - about evolutionary lines of different sentients in the colors. I didn't realize that this was about things being 'out-of-time'. Makes me think of the Doctor Who season finale a while back, where Winston Churchill was Caesar, people took hot-air ballon-cars to work, and it was always... 5:02 pm.
Is that kind of how you're imagining it? A mish-mash of all of time; or are there only three periods overlapping (the distant past, the present, and the distant future - with the distant future being the sentient species' time)?
I'll probably lend some help after a little while - just gimme some time to think over it.

I suppose the downside is that it would be just like now, only in the future. And I couldn't get on the internet for places like this, because... well... you saw the episode. Not that going online full-body wouldn't be cool...
All I know is that this place would be a lot steamier if we went in full body. And I'd blame Keeper for it.
Sound advice

I really didn't have ideas what the out-of-time bits really mean. I want to focus on the three overlapping times (Distant primal past, developing present, and advanced magitech future). I would be open to maybe showing some other times. The out-of-time thing was a wall I hit. I don't really know how to explain it.

Hm, maybe it's not so much that time is CURRENTLY out of whack--i.e. things happen in weird, causality-breaking orders--but time was broken apart and stitched back together WRONG. Does that make sense? It would be more akin to what was happening with the Time Rifts or some of the time bubbles on Tolaria, but instead of slow and fast time it would simply be bubbles of different eras stuck together. Moving through them wouldn't send you forward or back in time, really. Does that make sense?

That's kind of the fel I want, or the landscape just kinda shifts a little to update to a different time. Nothing major, nothing like the roil. Just a little oddity

Oh something I would really like help with is giving each evolution line a distinct story and interaction. And also giving them some unique look/aesthetics to help make them feel "out of time". As a really out there example Viashino with a bunch of wartech made in volcano forges

Do you mean something like Duel Masters?

sblock'd for space conservation. I got to thinking about this place and then got stopped when I saw what Keeper said. Then I started thinking again. My original idea had the timeline double back on itself like this: l------------------------------------------------------\ /-----------------------------------------------/ \----------------------------------------------------------> So that all three times happened at once, for a while. I was even considering the implications of the backwards flow of the 'present' when I had to rethink it. Now I'm thinking something along these lines: __________________ / / / / / / / / / / / / /_________________/ This is a 'slice' of time, and all the space contained therein. This world has three times overlapped, like.... __________________ / / / ______________/____ / / / / / / / / ______________/____ / / / / /___/ / / / / / /___/ / / / / / /__________________/ That. Yeah, like that. God, that was difficult to line up. That last one is too far down, but I'm not going through that again. Now where was I? Oh, right.EDIT: Stupid preview. These three 'instances' in time overlapp each other like the pages in a book, and taken all together they would work as a book, but in this case it's like the 3 acts of the book have been shuffled together, and all acts are appearing at once (I know I just shifted metaphors). The basic thing I'm trying to get at here is that this doesn't strictly have to be an outside influence. it could just be that the random fluctuations of the Blind Eternities (standing in for the 11th dimension, in this case) could have birthed a plane or altered a young plane so that these three acts of its history are brought together. If I may invoke some traditional sci-fi: it's like each timeline exists as its own dimension, so that things that happen in the past cannot effect that which happens in the future, because they don't actually interact. But what has happened is that these three timelines have become entwined together like the roots (roots seemed more appropriate than branches) of a tree. They each may have their own origin and don't depend on one another, but they have now fused and grow as one. Any of that make any sense? Because I'm having a difficult time understanding me at this point.

Basically thats what I was thinking, several times overlayed ontop of one another. Something has allowed them to interact without disturbing eachother (like hunting down a dragon won't wipe out several viashino).
As for the image, that's kind of an extreme version but yeah. I want the humanoids to have a kind of futuristic feel. The idea is that if it's normal path had lasted the plane would only have the middle life forms barely developing sentience.

Just letting you know I'm not ignoring this thread; I'm just trying to find time to fit everything in now that I'm working. I'm helping Barinellos with his nearly-finished Ellysium world (at least I assume it's nearly finished). I'm trying to plan out some time to read the Planeswalker's Guide to New Return to Ravnica. I'm watching Spice and Wolf II in the two hours I usually have to myself on my workdays; and also some Rowan Atkinson so that I can smile when I go out to the sales floor.
Basically, I just don't have time for everything at the moment; but I will eventually. Count on it. I like this world idea.

Yeah I was on vacation since friday. I'm in no rush to finish this. It has no bearing on anything I'm working on, I just want to develop this idea.
