Originally there were loads and loads of races for the plane, divided into mono colors. I actually suggested that he cut it back to less, since it was so strictly divided by colors. He... cut it back a lot further than I expected. :P

We're interested in any kind of story, really. Whatever you share, we'll read (and criticize).

Well, the reason I asked is because I'm right now having trouble choosing one right now, lol.

Haha, well, what are the options? Can you give us a list of what you're thinking of looking at?

In that case:

History of Haltia
      Subgroups of History of Haltia:
         The Great Forming
         Rise of the Humans
         Time before War
Character dossirs and stories
Subgroups for Character dossirs and stories(these are the main characters for the first block so far):
        Elsa(current leader of the foxes)
        Triel(current leader of the wolves)
        Coria(adopted daughter of Triel)
        Veil(adopted daughter of Elsa)
        Geral(current leader of the humans)

Just some samples really.

Very well. Btw, there is no sketch for Elsa yet. There is one for Veil however: mr-comissions.deviantart.com/art/Newer-V...

Veil isn't a fox or wolf as you can see. There's a reason why but that get's explained later in the story.

Veil was found and taken in by Elsa shortly after the start of the war between the foxes and wolves when she was just a newborn.
Veil has a slightly emo(for lack of a better term) personality in that she can be moody at times and tends to avoid everyone. In her case though, it's not because of angst or stuff like that, it's more of she's scared to trust others really(with the exception of Elsa).

Despite this, she's an accomplished scholar and pretty bright for her age, which is 16 from the time of when the first set of the first block starts. At about that time, Veil wonders who she really is and where she came from. She sneaks out without Elsa's knowing to find the answer. Little did she know though that the answer would come from the other side of the battlefield.

After wandering out for a while, Veil is attacked by the wolves, though they have have no idea what to do with her since none of them have ever seen Veil before. Surrounded and outmatched, Veil feels that her decision to sneak out was now a really bad idea and that it was going to end here. She starts panicing heavily, trying to escape, with no success as the wolves pin her to the ground shortly afterwards. Feeling like it was the end, that's when her planeswalker spark emerged, which then covered the area with a black fog. The fog quickly dissipated, but the wolves were on the ground, crippled and unable to move. Still in a slight panic, having abosolutely no clue what just happened, she made a break for home. It wasn't long until she ran into something else, though this person was about to change everything, for her, and the plane itself.

Her abilities, through her spark, involve using foggy darkness, for use as a weapon and as a tool. The fog can't go too far from Veil but can still cover some ground. After some training, Veil has managed to be able to manipulate it's shape and form. Though she hasn't got it down yet, she can actually create a shadow beast, although she can't maintain it indefinitely and can only one active at a time. The main use of this fog is to stun and cripple enemies as the fog can literally tempoararly shut down the part of the brain that controls motion, though after some training she can use the fog to actually not effect others if the situation calls.

I'll put up Elsa later.

Anyways, that's Veil. If you need to know something else about her, let me know ok?

I like what you've got going here. It's a fairly traditional story model, but that's not a bad thing--it lends a folktale quality to what you're doing that's nice.

One thing that comes to mind: why is this character a Planeswalker? It looks like you want her to be strongly tied to this particular plane, which suggests to me that she shouldn't be a 'walker, but a legendary character. I think you can find a way of making her an important and unique figure without necessarily having her be a 'walker.

Actually, Tevish Szat talked about this a bit in our Planeswalker Creation Contest:

You know, I'm having this problem lately where I consider my character idea, and think, "Wow, this is really interesting... but why is ze a Planeswalker?" Is anyone else finding that their characters would be improved greatly with a spark removal?

I tend to build up to ascension-as-transformation where possible.  Lourima left home for the very last time, Aurica was totally transformed, Mari lives in exile, Larasa and Morgan have no world to return to, Cinder accidentally burned her bridges, and Kamahiro is all about re-discovering a niche that had ceased to exist1.  Some of these characters (Notably Lourima and Cinder) could prossibly be retooled as non-walkers.

I do find it one of the more challenging aspects of the contest though, always making sure that access to the wider planes is important for the character in question.  In general, I've found a few traits generally help with planeswalker-ness
1) Isolation from the Past.  A planeswalker that makes a clean break with "Home" tends to be more planeswalker-y than one who still has a home plane they care about and can return to.
2) A Desire to Travel.  A planeswalker with goals that lead to an itinerant life-style is more of a planeswalker than one that wants to be sedentary.
3) Exhausting Scarce Resources.  A Planeswalker is defined, ultimatley, by their walking of the planes.  While there are many factors that can contribute to pulling up roots and leaving an entire world behind, many of them come down to the general form that the planeswalker is seeking something that is inherantly finite per plane: Megabeasts (Garruk), Major Injustices, Demon Lords (Liliana), Wars... When the Planeswalker has "used up" all that he or she is interested in, there's no reason to stay, and caring about something that gets used up that way is quite a "planeswalker" story.

It might be worth keeping these traits in mind when you're putting together a character. If the character doesn't fit these traits, it might be best to make them a non-walker. Does that make sense?

Oh, and your picture is pretty well rendered, but it's not exactly typical of Magic's style Just a warning on that front.

There actually is a reason for that, just mearly not revealing everything at once as to not spoil the story is all.

Yeah, I know, lol. I'll never be able to do fantasy art MTG style anyways, it just ain't gonna happen.

Never say never. If you're interested in art, one of the best things you can do is learn versatility.

And don't worry about spoiling the plot. It's way, WAY more important to give us a sense of how the story comes together. The only time people keep secrets around here is when they're working independently or in small groups on something. Ultimately, it's all released to the group before getting voted on anyway.

I've seen the MTG art, I'm not exactly one to go THAT detail oriented.

As for the plot, in that case, what specifically are you asking for right now?
