Anybody else feeling a little directionless?
I mean, we have some projects going, but there isn't actually much working going on.
On the one hand, most of us have one thing or another to occupy our time, but truthfully I don't. I only work on the weekends and I don't go to school, but I seriously don't feel like doing any work at all.

I even know I have some unfinished projects floating around, I mean, lord knows that I could stand to finish Legacies, but... well, I just don't feel like it.
Writing in general that is. I kind of feel like finishing Legacies, but that's about it, and really the drive isn't very strong.

So anyone else feeling this or something similar?

I'm full of ideas and I want to get them out, but I just don't have the time during the week. Too much Navy stuff. And it's only going to get worse once I class up in two weeks. I'll be working from 6am to 8pm. I'll only have the weekends off. Totally brutal. But I'm going to see what I can get done.

I'm just sort of trying to figure out where I want the three stories that I have vague ideas about to go... that's my problem, currently. I don't have direction in the sense that I'm not sure how exactly to tie them together.

I mean, Dominian Nightmares has a very strong thematic focus on the parallelism between Asher/Kirsh/Karona, the loss of humanity that can come from the Spark, and the general idea of horror as an infiltrating, insidious force... (I'm proud of how I tied those together, if you couldn't tell)

The other stuff I'm working on isn't nearly as strong. I know I want to do one with Kirsh that involves Kamigawa (I've talked to Barinellos about this one) and the theme there is, I think, something to do with the intersection of personal relationship problems with wider institutional problems, and I have two with Raleris and an as-yet-unnamed character that would respectively have to do with wonder and exploration (maybe) and coldness and understanding grief (probably) but... yeah, I don't know what should actually happen. I have the ideas, but no ****ing plot.

Yeah I have my outlines for the Agmund/Huinn/Coven story, and a few characters to introduce (coven members, ripe for picking), and possibly even using Akura. But the drive to actually write fails me when I have time. I'll see what happens soon.

Yeah, my problem is that right now I have a bunch of ideas, but to save my life I don't have the time to work on any of them. At least, not until I'm finished with these short stories for my Fiction Writing class. They're developing well, but god are they difficult to write sometimes.

Hopefully this summer I'll be able to get cracking on some Magic fiction. I certainly am eager to do so.

I have an idea, I'm just trying to figure out in my own head how to best structure it as I would like to not only focus on the character, but their home, culture, people and history of the Plane + background to the event that leads to his Spark igniting.

The problem at the moment for me personally is not a lack of direction but to many idea's and a quite annoying sense of perfectionism.

So yeah at the moment the idea is there but it's a whirlpool of pure chaos, I just got two weeks off though so in between revision, Finding a new Anime I am enjoying and being my 'ME3' teams "Designated Crap just hit the fan Quarian Super medic" (That is the official title) I will try my best to work on sorting out a plan, I think I might start with writing the history.

Also maybe a bit of a cheezy idea but Merfolk main outpost/Capital? I was going with the idea of a grouping of three large Iceburgs surrounded by a Glacial wall quite far away from land into the sea called Trident.

The way the one narrative I'm working with needed to function finally clicked into place today. Honestly, reading simple theory about writing is more inspiring to me than anything else... it's all about aquiring tools.

I think I might have figured out Kirsh's next story too, or at least what backbone I need to build to allow the story to grow.

Both might take a little bit, though, as the next few weeks are busy, and I have a short story I'm doing for StIT soon as well...

How about a little roleplaying? [/shameless plug]

But really, let me know if anyone wanna experiment with something or develop some idea stuck in your head. I'm more into collaborative storytelling, which is why I'm inclined towards roleplaying than plain storywriting.

This is very true. At least, that's how I justify the hours wasted on tv-tropes. (No link, you're all safe.)

In all seriousness, I'm adapting an article by Film Crit Hulk about writing stuff (the big two-parter, for people who know it) so that it becomes readable (ALL CAPS is horrible).

Can't you just use one of the automatic converter programs people are always linking to in the comments?

Also, the criticism I was talking about, not so coincidentally, was another FILM CRIT HULK article... :P
