Description:
This group is an experiment in providing feedback for freelance projects, both by myself and others. Projects are posted and discussed in the forums section. I am a firm believer that feedback is vital to a quality project, this gives freelance writers the chance to give and receive feedback.
Playtesting may consist or simple feedback from reading the project, or from actual playtesting in a session.
The rules are simple:
If you have a project, you post it for discussion. By joining this group, you agree not to plagiarize or redistribute other's work. Feedback should be comprehensive and answer the following questions:
Do the rules mesh with existing material (if any)?
Do they make sense? Is there a logical reason for them?
Are the rules well balanced with existing rules or other rules in this book?
Is the text easy to read and understand?
Did you have to frequently refer to other books?
Is there something you feel is missing?
Is there something you feel is unnecesary or irrelevant?
How would you solve these rules problems?
For adventures:
How many hours of gameplay did you spend, and how far did you progress?
How much experience did your party earn?
Were the monster encounters well balanced for the party level?
Were there any character deaths? If so, how did they occur?
Was the story well thought out?
Were the plot points easy to follow?
Were there any "dead spots" in the story? If so, where?
What can be improved in this adventure?
After discussion, the original link to the project can be removed.
There is no compensation, this group is collaborative, and for personal satisfaction. If a writer can provide versions to his or her contributors, they may do so but are not required to do so.
Membership is by invitation only. If you are a freelance writer or willing to be a playtester, please contact me. Members who do not contribute will be removed.
