The possibilities might not be endless, but there still are alot of really cool units we don't yet have in WAS. Officially we've been told to expect a River Class corvette/frigate, a seaplane tender and a hybrid ship. Unofficially I think we can expect to see the French CA Algerie, Italian BB Roma, Italian CA San Georgio, German raider Atlantis, and German DD Hermes (ZG3). I can't confirm these latter five units 100% because of the manner in which they were 'brought up' to me, and I'd rather keep the source private. Believe it, don't believe it, we'll find all out for sure (including me) when the set's released.
Now it's time for pure speculation and educated guesses!
USA
The USN has pretty much everything in terms of a modern WWII fighting force, but it still lacks early war units. Early war units can be usefull as they are normally cheap, like a 5 point Brewster Buffalo or some US roundel Vindicators (I don't have a real idea what the cost on these would be). I can only hope we see a new 1941/42 DD.
A Victory Ship would be a winner, or new CVE (or a reprint CVE) and we really are up for a reprint of the USS boise, the USS Nashville would do nicely. I think the museum ship USS Texas would make a good new BB sculpt and the USS South Dakota would make a good reprint BB. If they get a CA I'm hoping for USS Portland, if it's a reprint maybe USS Boston or USS New Orleans. I think the USS Ranger would be great to see since we already have Jean Bart and USS Massachussettes.
UK (and commonwealth)
Brits are up for a new sub and I hope it is an old S-Class like the HMS Spearfish, who has a very creative verse in the song, 'Nine little S-Boats). I think it's time BB HMS Nelson shows up, along with a Hawkins Class CA or at least a monitor like HMS Terror. CV HMS Implacable would make a great new UK fleet carrier. CL HMS Enterprise by name alone deserves a model.
There are alot of DD reprints that can be done as other classes than the originals. For instance, the J-Class HMS Javelin has already been reprint twice under different nationalities as an N-Class DD, and can be reprinted once more as a K Class DD for the UK. The Greek DD V. Olga could be reprinted as HMS Glowworm or HMS Havant and even might make a good HMS Icaris. If the UK gets anything as a new sculpt other than the River class DE (which I believe will be Australian) it will hopefully be an MTB. As for aicraft it really is time we see the Seafire or at least a carrier based Corsair. UK can still get some other great aircraft via reprints like the Hellcat and Avenger.
France
CA Algerie would mean a flagship if it does indeed show up. With any luck we might see a subhunter DD or a new sub. The seaplane tender could be the Commandant Teste and it might even base a new unit of Late 298 seaplane torpedo bombers, but I doubt this.
Russia
Only one unit in the last set, but who knows, they might get some reinforcments like a Lennongrad Class DD, a K-Class sub or maybe some aircraft. The Omaha Class CL Murmansk as a reprint would give them light cruiser.
Poland and Brazil
Eventually these guys both need to show up. Poland had a few ships and were lendleased several to be operated by resistance forces. The museum ship ORP Blyskawica would make a good DD and the CL ORP Dragon a good light cruiser.
Brazil declared war on the Axis in 1942 and conducted ASW patrols to hunt for German U-boats. They also had an old BB Minas Gerais, her sister ship I believe was being used for spare parts though by the time WWII broke out. There was a light cruiser as well, although I can't remember her condition. If we don't see them now, then I hope do see them before the game is finished for some interesting fantasy scenarios. Germany invades Brazil!
Dutch
No telling what might show up for these guys: a Java Class CL, the museum ship Abraham Crijnssin AUX (Jan van amstel Class Minesweeper that escaped Japanese controlled Dutch East Indies by disguising itself as a tropical island, true story). Just as likely that they'll get nothing
Greece
Our newest nationality, they could still use the BB Kilkis, and CL Elli, and perhaps another DD class, like Fiume class. Will they get any of this? Only the designers know that.
Finland
Ramming submarine Vettehinen, the flagship Ilmarinen (Vainamoinen reprint), Bf109G fighterbomber and VMV class MTB would all help Finland to become more complete as a nationality (even thought it's a support nationality). We can only hope we get some of this.
Romania
Subtender Constanta as an AUX, a submarine or two, a Mirasti class DD or Regele Ferdinand Class DD, with maybe a few reprint German aircraft is the most I think we can expect to see from Romania as a nationality as a whole in WaS. in this set I think it's possible a destroyer might show up, but I'm not holding my breath.
Germany
If they get two reprint rare sculpts I think we can expect to see the BB Schlesien and CA Blucher, if it's one rare, my money's on Blucher. Atlantis I'm more confident about, I was told by a reliable source we'd see it not long after the Vainamoinen. We can only hope for a new German fighter, like the Fw190 or Bf110. I think a sub via new sculpt or reprint is a shoe-in.
Italy
If the BB Roma (possible flagship) and the CA San Georgio (an old armored cruiser) show up for rares I'll be content. A Montecucoli Type CL would make a good uncommon unit or even a reprinted CL like the Abruzzi or maybe the seaplane tender is the Guisseppi Miraglia... hahah. A Gabbiano Class corvette would be usefull with it's ASW power, you can never get too much of that IMO.
Siam/Thailand
These guys got into a tiff with the Vichy French during the war and they were a Japanese ally. They had some really small coastal defense ships (one had 4x 8 inch guns though) and at least one DD is a museum ship. Nothing rare here, but they could add some flavor to our Japanese Fleets. I don't really thing they will show up, but do feel that they are worth mentioning.
Japan
There are a couple CVs I know alot of ua want, like Kaga, Hiryu and Taiho. We should get at least one of those, and lets hope we also get a less popular one like Unryu or a Junyo's sister Hiyo. Most of us think the hybrid ship will be an Ise class BB in it's 1943 configeration. It could also be CA Mogami in her 1943 refit but I doubt it. Japan could really use it's 'Frances' patrol bomber, successor to the "Betty". A "Grace" torpedo/dive bomber could really give them some flexibility for carrier operations. If they get the seaplane tender it might be the Mizuho. I'm sure they'll get at least one cruiser of some kind.
So there we have it, my speculations and guesses for Set V. Also, enjoy the psuedo-spoilers at the top. So I can't say they're 100% confirmed, but they aren't. It's a reliable source, but he doesn't have a habbit of just saying it out-right, like 'yeah it will there'.And that's all part of the fun, no one should ever know too much about the future, no matter how much he may wish to.
