There is only one player in attendance who went to Gen Con and played the prequel adventure to this season. He will be gaining the Ruby Medallion of Lolth. I will also be giving the medallion to any non slave member of House Xoorlarrin and only priestesses of House Melarn. Typically if anyone does what would be considered an "Act of Greatness" during a session I hand out the treasure card to them. But I think this season it will be whomever has the highest worth at the end of each session.

How do you plan on handing out the item during the season?

Our organizer just passed them around, since getting a hold of the gen con mods is... Well, they don't get posted.

Is it fair to restrict players with the card in this case, using your guidelines: not a preiestess and non-slaves? And, if I understand, that means none of the Bregans would be allowed to use the medallion at your table until their moment of greatness?

As a DM, I find it easier to just punish the players no matter what they pick, as I assume they will pick stuff that is broken.  I mean, fight after fight they kill all the monsters without getting killed themselves!  What sort of a game is this, anyway?

We are giving the Ruby Medalions to any Drow PC, but slave PCs do not get them. That was our coordinator's choice because she wanted to incentivise people to play drow. Besides it makes sense that slaves would not be blessed by Lolth, they are chattle.

I created a miniadventure where a group of goblin slaves escaped down another recently discovered tunnel into a small complex. Anyone who played this prequel (season 0 event) got a medallion as their award. In terms of game, all but one of my players received it and I may have one of them be a found magic item in session 3.

Yup. At my table not one player recieved one at the start of the session. The other two tables had a couple each. It's Lolth's favor, not all are born to it and you must earn it. I don't see it as a restriction, it's a privilege.

Now according to my rules one player would have recieved it but I held it back so as to not overwhelm him even more. He was ten years old, playing for the very first time, overwhelmed by Treachery cards and his character sheet. Keeping him focused and understanding the game was what the table strived for.

A Breagan was awarded it for having the highest worth at session's end.
