So I am DMing an encounters table at my local hobby shop as I figured it would be a good way to get back into DMing once again. Unfortunatly there is not enough official material as they run the game on Wednesday nights aswell as Thursday nights (Thursday night people only get to play and don't earn renown points it's basically for fun). Anyways the store owner gave me photocopies of the first four sessions (chapter 1) and the basic overview of the adventure but then needed my copy of session 1 for thursday so all I'm left with is sessions 2-4.

I really needed session 1 again so that I could study over the NPC details so that I can roleplay them better and session 2 makes refrence of a treasure table that I'm supposed to roll on but I never recived a copy of that. What am I supposed to do, I don't even know what is comming up in chapter 2.

Edit: Another question. Often it says to reward players a variable amount of exp such as 400-600 exp. Is that based off the number of characters in the party or how well they did or both? Ie 4 characters = 400 xp and 6 characters = 600 xp

Also should I be scaling the adventure based off the amount of players I have or is it designed for 4-6 players already?

Dunno what to tell you about not enough copies.

But as to the exp, yes its 400 exp for 4 players, and 600 exp for 6 players.  Adventures are written for 5 players normally.

To scale them up, usually you add 1 more of the lowest level standard creature.  And the opposite for the scaling them down.

Some use too few creatures though to do this with...
Spoiler: Show

There's one upcoming with just 2 oozes, with that one your best bet is just to add some more hit points to both the oozes to scale up, or remove some hit points to scale down.
