Why don’t you start off by telling us a little bit about you and your history with D&D, what you're playing now, and anything else you want people to know about you? My 1980's high school's D&D club was run by a social studies teacher named Mr. Lincoln. When a friend told me "Mr. Lincoln has a magic ring that causes diarrhea!" I had no idea whatsoever what they meant, but I figured it was too good to miss. Three games later my human monk died ignominiously when a secret door fell on him, and that was pretty much it. I was hooked. I even started hitting things in combat once in a while after someone explained to me the difference between a d12 and a d20. Jump forward almost 20 years. I'd been going to gaming conventions for a decade, running and playing hundreds of "classic" RPGA ...

Why don’t you start off by telling us a little bit about you and your history with D&D, what you're playing now, and anything else you want people to know about you? Hi. I'm Ryan Nock, RangerWickett on the EN World messageboards. I write for E.N. Publishing, which produces products for D&D 4th edition and Pathfinder (and, hopefully, for D&D Next). I've been a fan of Wizards of the Coast since they published Talislanta, before they even had Magic: the Gathering.

Why don’t you start off by telling us a little bit about you and your history with D&D, what you're playing now, and anything else you want people to know about you? I'm Claudio Pozas, artist and writer from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I started playing D&D (and RPGs in general) in 1987, with AD&D 1e. Back then me and my group didn't have as strong a grasp of English as I do now, so we got some rules wrong (like thinking that clerics had spellbooks, just like magic-users). About a year later I was already DMing (starting with the Temple of Elemental Evil). In 1990, I made the switch to AD&D 2e, and have kept up with the system since then. Beyond D&D, I've played Shadowrun, Marvel Superheroes, DC Heroes, Star Wars d6, Vampire, Call of Cthulhu and Rolemaster. But it always comes back ...

Why don’t you start off by telling us a little bit about you and your history with D&D, what you're playing now, and anything else you want people to know about you? Well I started playing D&D in the late 1990s after I asked a friend about his weird hat. It was not the best experience but I saw potential in this game. I didn't pick up the game again until right after 3rd edition came out. With a group and DM better suited to my style, I began to fall for the game. Then the urge to DM emerged. I think my journey through D&D and its editions would probably be one of the more unique ones. I went backwards with the editions from 3rd. Then forward in the order time states. Each edition, I jumped into the game with a new group. Seasoned in with D&D play were a few other tabletop games, ...

Why don’t you start off by telling us a little bit about you and your history with D&D, what you're playing now, and anything else you want people to know about you? I got started playing AD&D with a friend in high school, but we didn't get too far. It wasn't until I was 18 that a boyfriend reintroduced me to the game, again AD&D. I played a Wizard, had no clue what I was doing, but I liked how the game was like a very elaborate "Let's pretend," which appealed to my love of creating stories. I kept playing as I moved around the country. I even met my husband gaming. The family that RP's together, stays together. When we had a son, we turned him into a gamer too :)

Why don’t you start off by telling us a little bit about you and your history with D&D, what you're playing now, and anything else you want people to know about you? My name is "Jester" David Gibson. I've been playing D&D since 1993 although I'd been exposed to the game far earlier via the '80s cartoon and the Dungeon! board game. I do a D&D-based webcomic at 5mwd.com and write a blog here at the WotC Community site. How does D&D Next compare, so far, with your favorite editions? Favorably.

Why don’t you start off by telling us a little bit about you and your history with D&D, what you're playing now, and anything else you want people to know about you? As for other things about me, I always wanted to try my hand at making games or at least working with people who do, so when I started working at Wizards ten years ago I was pretty excited. Things just got better ...

Why don’t you start off by telling us a little bit about you and your history with D&D, what you're playing now, and anything else you want people to know about you? I have been involved in Dungeons & Dragons since my older brother (Brian R. James) first introduced it to me in 1987. I was too young to play it then, but I do have vivid memories of sword & sorcery and the tales that came about from his gaming group. When I got a bit older, I was finally able to join my brothers group (much to their chagrin) when someone could not attend. Since those early days, I have been involved heavily in RPGs and have played every edition, to include the original white boxed set. Aside from actually playing the game, I am a dedicated collector. I own a good portion of the D&D catalog since the ...

Why don’t you start off by telling us a little bit about you and your history with D&D, what you're playing now, and anything else you want people to know about you? My name is Yan, 33, I am French-Canadian living in Montréal, Québec with my wife and 2 daughters. I started playing D&D in the late 80s with the famous red box, like many other kids out there no doubt. Since then I played every iteration of the game and it has been one of my passions ever since. There isn't a day I don't read or write D&D, or visit its community. I currently run an AD&D 2nd edition campaign and a D&D 4th edition campaign, as well as playing and running D&D Next, both online and face-to-face. The playtest has been a very exciting experience ...

My name's Russ Morrissey (I use the username "Morrus" online) and I own an RPG news, reviews, and community website called EN World. I also own the Gen Con EN World RPG Awards, the ENnies, which is the world's premier RPG awards program, Circvs Maximvs (a more offbeat community which has a large proportion of gamers) and EN Publishing, a small RPG company which focuses primarily on plot-heavy adventure paths for the experienced GM or DM. I also co-own (with my brother) and produce an animated web series called The Perturbed Dragon, which pokes fun at some of our failings as gamers. My first D&D game was when... |
