Ado mate,
I'm on about starting an online campaign. If I can get enough people to do it then I'd gladly run a game over Skype.
Give us a shout if anyone else is interested!
Matt

Still early days mate and I'm looking for players, so far there's 2 of you, and it will most likely be on either a Tuesday or a Wednesday night, from 8pm for approximately 3 hours.
As far as character restrictions go, just a few things really:
1) No evil characters. Sorry, but I find that people who play in a way that antagonises their party are a pain in the bum to have to deal with, and the adventure I want to run does not lend itself to an evil-motivated party. If you really want an evil character then email me and we'll have a chat about how we're going to work it into the party, but if you want to make a badass or a selfishly motivated character, go for unaligned.
2) I've basically got the core rules set for D&D 4th. As far as character creation is concerned, I'm limited to what's in the Player's Handbook. If you want to make a character from one of the other books, I haven't got a problem with that, (a mate of mine uses Heroes of Shadow, for example) but I do expect you to have all the necessary rules to them because I won't be able to adjudicate on them.
3) When you're rolling up your character, to avoid having one broken/unplayable character I will ask that if your total bonuses at level 1 are higher than 8+ or lower than 4+, re-roll the whole lot and start again.
I'm thinking of starting a private thread once I get enough people so that we can discuss things like this outside of the game as well.
Let me know how if that's OK.
Cheers
Matt

Matt,
all noted, and have no issues with any of that. Will create the character using the Char Generator and stick to PHP1 rules. In fact quite like that as it will keep things simple.
Will get on an start rolling a character and send you the details to comment on. Do you have an email address for which to send the file to?

Hi Matt,
I never played online so far, but I'd gladly try it! Do you prefer rolling character with dice, or arranging points is also ok for you? I prefer the second one, this way all characters have equal pool for creation. PHB 1 is okay with me, I have an Eladrin Warlord in mind right now... Looking forward to hearing from you! Cheers,
Adam

So, maybe us who applied for playing, could post our character plans here, to see which roles do we take, and what are character concepts? It would make things faster to arrange, maybe another player or two gets the mood to fill up remaining spots (if there are any, Matt will tell if he logs in). So I know Zirk's and Kyrath's classes, so I decided to make an Eladrin Warlord. I'm not subscribed to D&D Insider, so I won't use character builder, but I'll get stats ready quickly enough when needed, eventually, I'll get things ready for the evening. Then I'll post the inmportant stats and a brief overview about personality and background.

I am planning to play an Elf Wizard whose main goal is to become stronger and if helping - or hurting - others is required to do so, then so be it. Despite his thirst for power, my character cares for his adventuring companions, and if possible, will try and help them stay alive. He is unaligned.

I have pulled together an Eladrin Ranger (Archer) called 'Sayer'. I used the Character Builder to create him using only the PHB1 criteria.
So it looks thus far like we will have:
Sayer - Eladrin Ranger ? the Eladrin Warlord ? the Elf Wizard
Could really do with a healer and a tank (Fighter)
Excellent, look forward to seeing you all online soon.

So, my Eladrin Warlord was a would-be captain of the guard in the Feywild, but even during his training, he was more interested in the history, the legendary heroes and magic items of Feywild, and the outside world than patrolling the borders daily. So after his training complete, the young Eladrin Warlord decided to set out and seek adventures. That was not without quarrel with his family, as his father was recent captain of the guard, but in the end he was allowed to walk his own path. (His family thinks, that it is but a short-term hot-headedness of the youth, and after a few years, their son would eventually come back. And what are a few years for the Eladrin?) Having been raised in the Feywild, my character feels and behaves still a bit as a stranger to the outside world. He trusts his companions, and tries to make friends with them, but such bonds take time for him. He is polite and usually tries to avoid conflicts, but when it comes to combat he is a fierce warrior. He is of Good alignment and worships Corellon. His goals are to learn as much from the world as possible, and to find challenges, artifacts and secrets true to the legends he read in great libraries. So he is a true adventurer, but he is more motivated by the knowledge and sensation than money and power. I can send or post the stats if needed.
