The saddest thing about the whole 'next edition' thing is I'll be one of the first in the queue to buy the system!

I have to say that I'm enjoying the whole 4e experience much better than 3e ( all in charity shop now) and now that we've played for a while and the mechanics are all second nature to us the role playing is coming back.

I just like to have the books, hardback, on my book shelves and browse through them at my leisure.

Ah the days of having to break your back with a ruck sack full of heavy gaming Tomes you have to make Endurance checks just to make it to the game.

Dont worry you can still get the books, PDF's have not dominated society yet.

Ah the memories, I used to take my 2nd Ed stuff to the game in a sports holdall. 3 ring binders of monsterous compendiums (just in case), campaign boxed set, DMG, screen, 3 PHB's (you could guarantee at least one player would forget theirs). Huge box of dice (again for the players who hadnt brought their own).

The really bad part was that at that time I wasnt driving so had to lug it all on public transport!

I for one am very glad of the smaller books in the Monster Vault and Dungeon Masters Kit.

More please. Smile

"Well that encounter was easy....er, guys, why is the DM grinning?" (party members last words)

It's not a party till the screaming starts!
