Hi, before I start having my players play D&D next, I was wondering if I need them to sign Non-Disclosure Agreements. I saw Confidential information of Wizards of the Coast LLC. Do not distribute. on the PDFs, and figure it would be worth asking you guys first about it.

Thanks alot, hope I'm not asking a stupid question here.

Anyone who participates in the play test (meaning everyone who plays in your game) has to sign up for the playtest, the same way you (presumably) did.

As a litigious company, WotC is terrified of lawsuits and always takes extra precaustions to protect their butt. Also, they're extremely protective of their IP and content.

The game has not been published yet, which means the rules are in a grey state of copyright. They don't want anyone stealing their rules, so via the licence everyone signs, they can use "licence violation" against anyone who theoretically abuses the fact their rules are available in a public playtest.

It's very unlikely to happen, but they're being cautious.
